It's an electrical cable with a controlled impedance. S/PDIF (consumer
audio) uses 75 Ohm; AES/EBU (professional) uses 100 Ohm.
We offer a variety of coaxial cables. For details please see our Web
page.

Did anyone hear of, or possible record 12/21 at Variety Playhouse, Atlanta.
It was an art rock show and had Widespread, ARU, Leftover Salmon, Flecktones,

I would love to get a copy of this show if possible.

Leonard asked some good questions; I'll try to clarify. Also please read the
pdf I have posted of the device's instruction manual at
ftp://ftp.klay.com//pdf/Sony_NPAD100K.pdf
as this may answer a lot of questions.
<<This pack sounds like a very good item if it comes with at least the
charger
AND a camcorder (6Volt ?) battery within the package.>>
No it does not. It comes with a belt-clip sled to hold an optional popular
camcorder battery or the supplied battery-shaped container that holds (6) AA
cells inside. .......clip......
>>
This now sounds a whole lot better to me and I'm happy to hear that Sony is
finally offering practical external powering accessories for their DAT
portables as I suggested to them over 8 years ago; no thank you or reply from
them ...... of course!

Date: Wed, 27 Jan 1999 18:50:11 -0500
Hi, no DAT content here, but I thought this
subject is related and someone here might be able
to help me. I recently bought a DAT and a
CD-writer and am in the process of transferring
some old cassettes onto DAT and/or CD. Some of the
cassettes are quite old, but for the most part,
have held up pretty well. A few of them have a
problem at the beginning of the sides with the
high-end coming in and out, like someone is
running an EQ slider up and down. I believe I have
heard this phenomenon called "pumping." It's only
at the beginning of a side. I have tried to rew/ff
the tapes to repack them, thinking this might
help, but haven't seen any improvement. Any ideas
out there?
Thanks,

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a battery pack for
driving a d100 and a sbm1 at the same time - You Blew It electronics
now has 9V lithium batteries for $7 so I was wondering if a device could
be made to use one/two of these to drive a d100 and SBM1 for 3 solid hours
(an alternative to using six AA lithiums).
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I will have to agree with Rob.
I have had my M1 for 8 months now and have no problems with 90m tapes.
Although I do use 60's to master. I have plent tapes on 90's that always
perform well.
And I have made tons of D>A in the past 8 months.
I will say I have been surprised considering everything that has been
said about 90's in general. But you gotta love that warranty just in
case......

but that they are ripping people off $$$ wise..
now we all know you can get the best quality stuff available for the price
of a blank tape on dat
but 7 yrs ago when i discovered bootlegs and taping I thought the only way
to get stuff wa s to save my 40.00 and get a boot cd.. now with all the
cash I dolled out to get those elusive shows I could easily have attended
many a show in person.. education is the key not punishment , some
people are happy to doll out the coin , I have no problem with that but
they should makean educated purchase.
go to alt music bootleg its a joke no one trades there they just sell cds

Subject: FOR SALE - SONY A9ES DUAL WELL CASSETTE DECK!!!! PRISTINE CONDITION!!!!
Date: Wed, 27 Jan 1999 18:51:31 EST
I have a Sony TC-WA9ES Dual cassette deck I would like to sell. The Sony TC-
WA9ES Dual Auto Reverse Cassette Deck has the exquisite precision of Dual
3-Motor Tape Transports. I have all the original packaging and instructions.
The unit is now out of warranty. I have been the sole owner of this deck. It
was originally purchased after I bought several DAT decks to spin nice crispy
cassettes for the tape player in my car. I only had that car for 4 more
months after the purchase. I spun maybe 100 tapes on it (and that is
exagerating) ... I never played tapes because I had DAT's. The car I purchased
has a CD player. To make a long story short I would like to part with the
unit. The person who buys this unit is getting a hell of deck fort he money.
I have compared tapes made with Nakamichi casette decks and this high-end Sony
ES unit hangs with the best. The heads are immaculate and everything works
perfect. It is not dusty or dirty. Below is a detailed list of the decks
specifications...

Hi there,
I'm looking for a 7 pin ->coax cable that lets the data pass both ways
(or at least 7pin->coax; not like the original Sony that only does coax
-> 7pin).
I can offer an extra brandnew Sony 7 pin - optical cable, never used.
No need for a trade though. Will buy that first cable and will accept
offers for the other one
