OTOH it can play tapes recorded in SP ; it can also record in SP, but only from the digital input (the ADC works only at 44.1 and 48 ksps). The TCD-D8 plays LP and SP tapes, but it records in LP only. Jean-Luc.
From: Jonathan Haynes <biscuit@gol.com> Subject: Help me turn off "mime"--or whatever I have to do... Date: Fri, 12 Feb 1999 22:29:25 +0900 I'm quite embarrassed that my last post took triple the space it needed to. Could somebody help me shut off what caused the problem? Win98/Eudora4.1 My apologies to all, JH
From: Jose Sieuve Afonso <jmmsa@correio.cc.fc.ul.pt> Subject: M1 and D8 for cloning? Date: Fri, 12 Feb 1999 14:17:39 +0000 (WET) I'm really into buying a Sony PCM-M1 to do cloning with my D8 (yes, M1 will record, D8 will play, I already have the cable). Can anyone tell me: 1) If I shouldn't.. :-) 2) Where should I go best deal on the M1 in the states. DAT store/Gary is selling for $690 something, Jim Oade gave me $675 and Terrapin wil match any price (note, this info in from late January...) 3) If the M1 can be found on the Hong Kong market, or if it's a US only release... Please ma a cc of your reply to me. Thanx, Miguel Afonso
