I'm sure that if you're experiencing some problem with their product (and it sounds like you've narrowed it down correctly) than they would like to know, and may have a fix. (I'm interested because I just upgraded from 4.0XP to 4.5, and haven't had any experiences like this yet) ======================================================================== - I Miss Jerry -|- TECHNOLOGY: No Place for Wimps! - ======================================================================== - <mailto:mikelieman@albany.net> <http://www.albany.net/~msl> - ======================================================================== - PGP Fingerprint: C43E 7FAB E5C6 873F 8531 8B24 DC98 0BC9 63F5 4005 - - (c) 1998 Mike Lieman "For Non-Commercial, Home-Use Only" - ========================================================================

From: Cdcreator@aol.com Subject: Re: Soundforge Corrups, Watch Out!!!!! Reply-To: Cdcreator@aol.com Date: Sat, 17 Apr 1999 11:02:35 EDT Scott, Bummer about your audio getting corrupted. As a successful user of Sound Forge 4.0 for several, I can't help but wonder why XP 4.5 is giving you these artifacts. First off, I would recommend downloading any updates from Sonic Foundry's website and see if that helps. Second, I would make sure that the hard drive that you are working from is defragmented and errorless. Also, I don't recommend normalizing anyway, as a good compressor like the one in Sound Forge or a plug-in like the Waves L1 Ultramaximizer will do a much better and cleaner sounding job. I personally think that the effects and processing sounds very cheap and grainy in Wavelab 1 and 2, so I would stick with Sound Forge or Cool Edit for a good stereo editing program. You can also use a mutlitrack recording program like Cakewalk or SAW and get good results. Anyway, I can definitely understand your frustration with getting this stuff to work as I have more than my share of PC troubleshooting, but I wouldn't go badmouthing the industry standard Windows editor until you have tried all of the updates and options available to you. Good luck, Dylan > From: "Scott Weber" <something_on@hotmail.com> > Subject: Soundforge Corrups, Watch Out!!!!! > Date: Fri, 16 Apr 1999 09:18:17 PDT > > I rebuilt my entire f*uking PC because I was getting audio glitching. > Many PC literate and DAT/music literate folks gave me thousands of > suggestions from replacing my hardware to tweaking Windows 98/NT. From: Ibiza Bar <ibizabar@mindspring.com> Subject: BOC tour dates - catch them!!!! Date: Sat, 17 Apr 1999 12:40:50 -0400 Anybody interested in the good old hard, heavy, fun 70s metal must check out Blue Oyster Cult. (Yes, they ARE back and with a vengeance!) Sure the 70s are long gone, but their music still plays harder and heavier than ever. It's the original line-up, well everyone except the Bouchard brothers (Eric Bloom, Buck Dharma, Allen Lanier and a new bassist and drummer). Saw and taped them last year in Conyers, GA and they TOTALLY ROCKED!!!!!!!! They had put out their first album in 10 years (entitled "Heaven Forbid"). Probably their most heavy album since 1974's Secret Treaties. So anybody into attending and taping any of these shows, please let me know. I have some BOC and loads of others to trade. Somehow I lost my instruction manual .. can anyone tell me how I can divide my DAT-recording into tracks, so that when connecting it with an optical cable to my Pioneer PDR-005 I can copy it all at once without having to set tracks manually on my CD-R ?? It's soooo annoying and timeconsuming to sit next to the cd-recorder all night with your finger on the "write" button :-( Thanks! Karin

Is it "Stealth Microphones" or is it "Stealth Mics.", or both? I'm assuming that it's "Stealth Microphones", in which case the person originally posting the for sale ad did no wrong. Can someone please open a window...it's a bit stuffy in here.
