From: "Drew Harrington" <drewh@bitwise.com> Subject: DAT=>PC=>DAT clones Reply-To: <drewh@bitwise.com> Date: Sat, 8 May 1999 18:20:53 -0700 In my experience the largest problem with DAT=>PC=>DAT clones is that PC software is heavily optimized to ensure that samples do not get dropped during recording, but that significantly less respect is given to playback. Many software packages will even tell you after recording a file to harddisk whether or not any skips occured. I have yet to find one that will tell you this about playback. In my experience, this is problematic at best. If you told me you were going to make a trade tape for me this way, I'd probably tell you not to bother - unless as Gary said, you had put a LOT of time into making sure your clones were fine. From: "Eric T. Nelson" <tourcrew@javanet.com> Subject: Illuminati 9.17.97 Date: Sat, 08 May 1999 20:17:40 -0600 Can anyone on the list help me out by revealing the venue for this Illuminati show? I know the show was on a tapetree a while back, so undoubtably there are folks out there who have it and know the info i seek. Background info: the first set starts with Scarlet>Lazy lightning and ends with US Blues. The second set starts with Picasso moon, ends with Playin Reprise and Encore is Led Zeppelin's The Ocean. Thanks for the help. Eric
From: "Patrick Hayes" <pat@patrickhayes.com> Subject: re: Windscreens for AKG C3000 Date: Sat, 8 May 1999 20:21:29 -0600 ======= As far as I know, one of the cool things about the C3000 is that it has an integrated windscreen and shockmount (that's why they're so big and heavy, even though they aren't tube-based). When there isn't any serious wind you don't really need a windscreen with them (recording with them in my studio I only add a screen to block the pops from p's; on stage with my groups I use them as is without a problem). If you find something sized right please let us know, just in case. ====== Pat Hayes pat@patrickhayes.com ======

From: DMBDATS@aol.com Subject: Dat Newbie Offer ( Re-opened) (Also BAD TRADER ALERT) Date: Sat, 8 May 1999 22:44:27 EDT After weeks of being SCREWED around by kindbudgod@aol.com,(HUGH) I will reoffer these 16 dats for 16 blank dats of my choice. WARNING THIS KID IS A PUNK AND FOR THE LAST MONTH HE HAS COME UP WITH EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE and the sad thing is I WAS TRYING TO HELP HIM OUT WITH THIS OFFER. All traders beware. I have been offering Dat newbie offers for over 4 Years now and have yet to come across a person who so blatantly tried to screw up a NEWBIE OFFER. I just don't get it, when I first got into dats in order to get get one dat you had to do 2 for 1's and even in some cases 3 for 1's. My offers have always been 1 for 1's and people still seem to want to screw things up. Shocking to say the least. Sorry to vent, I will be offering the following Dats in a newbie offer. The first person who responds gets the lot. Since this offer is already a month old, I am not interested in breaking this collection of Dats up. All Dats are High Quality and are labeled with Venue and Set list information. The dats I want are Cheap....I think they are $4.29 each. They are from Cassete House ( 1-800-321-5738), they are called D-184MD Masterdat. E-Mail if interested.
