Here's an interesting story. Saturday was a hot and dusty day at
Wilmer's Park, Maryland. Everyone was dancing and having a good ole time and
trying not to get too burnt by the sun. The afternoon bands played strong one
hour sets: Sector 9, Calobo, The Slip, Vipor House, and the All Mighty
Senators.
It was during Deep Banana Blackout's set that the trouble began.
Within minutes the weather changed and a storm rolled in. A huge gust of wind
blew over the main light tower, which crashed to the stage, just missing the
drummer. The band scattered off the stage and the crowd scattered for
shelter. Although there was no official announcment while I was there, word
from backstage and the soundboard was that power had been lost and the show
was over. The four bands that were still to go on that night were: The Disco
Biscuits, Lake Trout, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and moe.
The pisser is that my tapes from the board of the bands that
afternoon sound great. Ironically, the weather for SCI on Fri. night was
awesome.

MA, on Saturday night (or any other show, if there were others), I would
be deeply indebted if you dropped me a line. I'm dying to hear what that
sounded like! Nothing much to trade yet, but let me know what you want
and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

Ok guys, lemme know your opinions of the following:
Bogen or Manfrotto? The Bogen is 17' and the Manfrotto only 13', but the
Manfrotto is "air cushioned", whatever that means. Only $10 in price
difference.
2nd- What are the most popular mic mounting techniques? XY, AB, or
something spaced like ORTF? I was talking with someone recently and he said
you can get phase cancellation using the AB technique when there isn't much
space between the mics and the sound source. BTW, I _have_ read the mic faq.
Thanks,
