They are full of crap. There is no production hold on the SV-3700. SOME were returned with transport problems, but those are being corrected on a return and repair policy. Full Compass is quite against selling SV-3700s for some unknown reason and will try their hardest to sell you a Tascam product in its place. They will sell the SV-3700 if you beg and grovel, for $1325, but it's not worth dealing with them (unless you're calling looking for Tascam products). -- <-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-> | David Hollister Voice/mailbox (214)-919-9303 | | System Administrator Pager (214)-410-0785 if needed | | dhollist@iphase.com | <-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-> Least credible statement #2: Of course I'll respect you in the morning.
From: nodo@aol.com Subject: DA-P20 into DTR-80P ? Reply-To: nodo@aol.com Date: Fri, 08 Oct 93 15:46:14 EDT I have a Teac DA-P20 and I also have a bunch of masters that were recorded on that same machine. I was running the Teac's "dig out" into a DTR-80P's "dig in", playing a master of a Bela Fleck show. The first set worked out well. The second set would not transfer the time code information onto the DTR-80P. Why ? I tried a slew of different cables, with no luck. I then tried the same path into another DA-P20 and it worked fine. Any clue why the second set would not transfer the time code data to the Dennon machine ? Just wondering, Brendan
From: Keith Sklower <sklower@vangogh.cs.berkeley.edu> Subject: Access to Sony Service in SF Bay Area (was d3 woes) Date: Fri, 8 Oct 1993 15:52:53 -0700 I've had my DTC-1000ES repaired twice; it has worked flawless since the second time. Both times I drove from SF (where I live) to the Sony Service Center in San Bruno and handed it over the counter. The second time, they had apparently shipped it to San Jose at their expense, and San Jose UPS'ed it back to me. (in a two foot cube of plastic peanuts!). Number is 415 871 2810; they'll give you directions for how to get there. (It's really easy to find).
