Last night I went to the Black Crowes, in Sunrise, Fl.
Two points of interest from last nights Show, Lenny Kravits showed up to
watch the Show, he didn't play
gh:(
And tapping me on the shoulder before the show an old friend of mine, that I've seen at many a Phish Show. Chris Kuroda was doing the Light show. No Phish didn't fire him, just seems he has to much time on his hands.
What a show! Anyone interested in a tape or CD of this show,
E-mail me.

As subject states.. looking for these Jewel shows July 16th, 18th,
and 19th of 1996.
The 7/16/96 show was a radio show event.. WDST Backyard Bar-B-Q.
The 18th and 19th shows were some sort of Fan (Club?) affair.
I know it exists on DAT.. I have a 1st gen. of this on tape, but would
prefer DAT or CD-R. If you have this.. I have lots of offer in return.

I have a Sony DTC 690 DAT Recorder, and I am looking to use it in
conjunction with my Audiomedia III Card. The DAT recorder has optical
in/out, and only a Digital (s/pdif) in. So I need a way to patch from
my optical output on the deck to the S/PDIF input on the Audiomedia
card.
Where can I get such an animal?
Thanks as always...

Hey Drew,
Might look into a Midiman "CO2". A smallish device designed to accept & convert coax to optical
signal & back again. Has coax & optical ins & outs, & will also work as a splitter. Wants 9v DC
power, either transformer or battery pack should do. <www.midiman.net> 1-800-969-6434

Hello & Welcome
My trading of digital audio tapes is purely hobby...
No profiteering here I assure you. Help spread this music through the
grass-roots DAT movement and squash every last bootlegger!!
*******************************************************************
ATTENTION:
I am offering to sell CD's, not for profit, for charity! I've been doing
this ever since I read that the farm Aid people didn't rerun the phish
portion of Farm Aid on CMT because they said that the least amount of
donations came in during the Phish set! I set out to prove them wrong.
So far I've raised over 600$ for Farm Aid,(I offered my Farm Aid SVHS tapes
to whoever sent me a Blank Tapes, and a donation made out to Farm Aid). And
have not received one reply or an acknowledgement from The Farm Aid People,
So now I'm offering DAT, CD, or whatever anybody wants, in return for a
check made out to one of PHISH'S Charities: Wishing Well, Mimi's Glaucoma
Society, or whatever anyone can suggest, I just started this so I don't now
were to go with this, as for how much would be a reasonable amount to donate
for one show. I would supply the CD's, and would hope people would send me
Postage to get the music back to them. I have a nice Collection, which grows
daily, all my collections are Clear, digital recording.
Any help with suggestions to improve my ideas here would be greatly
appreciated.
THIS IS OPEN TO ALL RECORDING MEDIA, SO ALL YOU UNIDECKERS, GROVELERS, AND
ANALOG TRADERS, FOR LESS THAN THE PRICE OF A BOOTLEG ALBUM. YOU CAN HAVE
THAT SWEET SHOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET SOMEONE TO RECORD FOR YOU!
MY CLONING SETUP CONSISTS OF:
2 DAT RECORDERS: SONY M1, TASCAM DA-20 MK2,
A ONKYO TARW544 DUEL ANALOG RECORDING DECK,
NAKAMICHI CD4 & SONY 507ESD CD PLAYERS, BOTH W/DIGITAL OUT.
HHB- CDR850 PRO CDR RECORDER,
SONY HI-8 TAPE PLAYER,
& MITSUBISHI SVHS PLAYER.
WHAT ALL THAT MEANS IS THAT I HAVE THE MEANS TO PRODUCE CLEAN SCUMS-FREE
CLONES OF YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS.
SORRY IF I HAVE OFFENDED ANYONE WITH THIS POST, BUT AT THIS POINT IN MY
LIFE, I FEEL THE NEED TO DO THIS.
PHISH AND THE PHISH COMMUNITY HAS BEEN VERY GOOD TO ME, I WANT TO DO
SOMETHING TO GIVE BACK.
PEACE AND MUCH LOVE,

I'm moving DATs onto a hard drive via a d7, coax cable (core sound) and
the ZA2 card, and recently a strange problem has begin to occur. sound
files copied in this way exhibit sudden drops/increases in one channel,
like someone instantly switched a pan pot all the way left or right. it's
not a complete dropout but very noticable. It happens many times throught
a sound file. It is noticable both in sound forge XP and the CDR after
it's been burned. had anyone experienced anything like this? ANY ideas
would be most welcome. thanks in advance. ps. it's not the particular
d7, as I have tried two different D7's. it happens with and without using
the 44.1khz zefiro resampling.

Subject: CSB - line in/mic in?
Reply-To: idocmark@buffnet.net
Date: Sun, 28 Mar 1999 03:00:07 -0500
There seems to be a lot of confusion about whether to use
line in or mic in when taping with CSB. Here is what I
have found after taping about 40 shows with CSB/battery
box/bass roll off into a D100. I usually tape from
around the SBD or off to the side of the SBD. I taped
line in standing next to the stack once, it came out awful
and even with earplugs it was much to loud.
The shows that I have taped line in are almost all inferior
sound quality to the shows that I taped mic in. Shows
taped line in are excessively bassy and levels only peak from
-8 to -12db. These shows taped line in can be improved with EQ and
normalization. Shows taped mic in usually require no or very
little adjustment. With the D100 I have never overloaded
the mic pre amp. My levels usually end up around 4.
I know that Len says to start line in and if you don't get good
levels then tape mic in. However now I always tape mic in.
Should it be to loud for mic in then I would switch to line in
(this has never occurred). I know this is good advice for the
the D100/M1 but this probably doesn't apply to the D8/D7 because
of the difference in mic preamp.
Two other words of advice with the D100:
Use lithium batteries - I can tape for about 6 hours on a pair.
I may use the included rechareable or alkaline if I know the show
will go under 1-1.5 hrs.
Be careful with the level adjustment knob it is to loose,
so it can be knocked by accident easily. Keeping the leather
case on seems to decrease this likliehood.

Subject: Another CD-R Question
Date: Sun, 28 Mar 1999 11:01:12 -0600
Hello all-I have another question about a problem I have been having with
making CD-Rs, and since I got such great help the last time I thought I
would ask this one. When I do disc at once, the music records just fine, no
gaps between songs and now I don't have the pops either, but when I play the
CD all the way through the CD doesn't reset. What I mean is that it just
stops at the end of the last track without going to the next CD in the
player or resetting and displaying all the tracks on the disk. When my
friend recorded some stuff Track at once(I think that is what it is called)
with the same programs and equipment the CD resets normally. What could be
the cause of the problem. Is there a code that should be at the end of the
cue sheet that I could be missing. I don't know much about the system since
it isn't mine, and the person who is helping me has never done DAO since he
doesn't do the live show thing. Thanks for any and all help, and for the
band width. Aaron Stoker stokera@missouri.edu
