Sorry for the waste of bandwith, was hoping I could get it in before the last guide went out but alas...
"...Goat Punishment update: Come on down and see weezer's favorite band take the stage this month. Three shows to choose from. Who knows what they'll do.
Spaceland Thursday Dec 14th: 21+, about 11 pm, kinda short set, also Psoma.
Troubador Friday Dec 15th all ages, early set (2nd of 4 bands), kinda short set
Knitting Factory Dec 30th all ages, headlining show, also: Ozma opens.
...changed: tickets for the Knitting Factory show go on sale sometime after the 18th, at the Knitting Factory box office, and are only available in person. The Troubador show may eventually be sold through Ticketmaster, but might be only sold at the door, night of show. Spaceland is at the door, night of show only."
Thanks for not flaming me.

Looking for a clean copy on DAT or CD. (I recently downloaded a SHN copy,
but there are some glitches in it.) I don't have much to trade on DAT
yet, but I can trade CDs or transfer CDs to DAT (in some cases cleanly
removing any CD breaks on my DAW first), or do B&P.
Thanks,

When referring to pro digital audio, does the nomenclature of AES mean the
same thing as AES\EBU? A unit I am looking at mentions digital audio in AES,
and comes with a 75 ohm BNC connector, not the usual XLR @ 110 ohm.
Any advice would be appreciated.

An update to the DPA 4061 post I made yesterday. Len at Core Sound
persuaded DPA to make a good will adjustment to my problematic 4061 mic.
Which means that they will fix it for me at no cost. Just thought I'd
mention this cause I think it shows DPA is willing to stand behind their
product. Secondly I wanted people to know that Len did a lot to help me
out.
Also I'll say a little more about the results I've had with these mics.
Placed on stand and raised in the air 18 inches apart they sound great. And
almost any electric show is loud enough that you can go directly to line in
on your dat(no preamp).
====================================original message
One of my mics developed a problem(through
normal usage) over the summer where it's internal connection to the cable
started failing, causing the mic sensitivity to drop out and do wild things.

For those of you unfamiliar with our site, there is a tutorial showing you
how to use it there. For all of our old users, everything should still work
fine.

problems:

Above times are for music and talk by the performers only. Also

I will also include in all trades the programme given away at the
venues.
In addition to the other three shows, I'm looking for my unusual usuals:
Leonard Cohen, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Lucinda Williams, Susan
Werner, and Richard Shindell but will consider many other
singer-songwriters from country to rock.
Pleas send lists or their URL (no GD or related or jam bands, though)
Thanks,
Steve

Subject: Anyone need a Zefiro ZA2??
Date: Fri, 8 Dec 2000 17:17:27 -0800
Hey folks -
We have a ZA2 sitting here that came back from a customer that thought he
had an ISA slot, but realized once he received the card that he did not.
This is easily the best soundcard for transferring digital audio ever made,
however its one drawback is that it requires an ISA slot which most new PC's
do not have (most have PCI slots).
Since orders for this card are few and far between I figured I would offer
up the card for below cost just to get it out the door to a digi pal in
need. I will probably offer it on ebay next week if it does not go to one
of you folks.
Brand New Zefiro Acoustics ZA2 Digital Sound Card: $350 + shipping
Drop me a line if you are interested. Remember: You must have an ISA slot
for this card to be compatible with your computer.
Thanks!

To Charlie Miller,
Thank you for the Pink Floyd Dats you spun me for B+P. I never
wrote down your E-mail address, and I re-used the envelope you sent the
tapes in without writing down your mailing address either. Thanks
again-I hope you'll give me the opportunity to return the favor someday.

Subject: Louie Stetzel
Date: Fri, 08 Dec 2000 20:20:47 -0800
I've received several posts from folks inquiring about the news of
Louie's passing, so I feel the need to make an "official" announcement.
It is with deep sorrow that I let those that didn't already know that
Louie Stetzel, Los Lobos' soundman, passed away earlier this week after
a long fight with a brain tumor. Those that knew Louie will understand
what a sad loss this is. For those that never met Louie, I'll just say
that he was one of the kindest, most gentle people I've ever met. Louie
was a true tapers friend, always willing to go above and beyond the call
of duty to make sure that tapers were always fully accomodated. There
are countless stories of his willingness to drop everything he was doing
to deal with security that were refusing to let taping gear in, to help
tapers find a way to plug into the Sbd when they had brought the wrong
cables etc. Louie had a knack for creating a mix that sounded great in
even the funkiest of venues - his passing has left some tough shoes to
fill.
If anyone has any stories of Louie that they would like to share, I
would be happy to pass them on to the band and the Lobos community, who
I know would love to read them.
Keep on keepin' on... DG

Please,
do somebody knows of AD/DA converters with FireWire (IEEE 1394) interface ?
Also, do you know if there is some audio equipment (DAT, DSP, etc) with
that interface ?
Looking forward to discover something,

Hey People,
FYI... Before setting up a trade with this guy, be warned that he has
ripped people off (me included) and if he does come through, figure on
waiting at least 6 months to a year. I'd be happy to forward any of the
emails I received about him if you doubt me.
Adam, you should have much to trade you burned enough people for tapes!
Peace,
Sean (who's been waiting since June for Adam Neely to come through)
