From: KindTaper@aol.com Subject: Guided By Voices will change your life Date: Wed, 7 Mar 2001 11:08:17 EST If you have a chance to see them on this short tour, do it. They are fine with audio taping and might give you a board. Use a 90M tape or be prepared to flip as they play about 2 1/2 hours. If you like really good, loud rock with weird lyrics and like to watch a band have a good time on stage, go see them. If you are looking for a great new cd to check out, get Bee Thousand. It sounds like home demos, but they are all great. I have my master from last week to trade. Good show, but I want to hear the Bee Thousand stuff with the band that recorded it. If you have any shows from 1994-1995 and would trade them, please let me know. Thanks, Wes Kindtaper p.s. All of you waiting on shows from me, I appreciate your patience. Work and show load the last week or two was very hectic.

From: "Pat K" <Hoobash@hotmail.com> Subject: Need mixer help Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2001 02:24:39 -0500 I got a mixer from a friend and I want to do some sbd/mic mixing. I have oktava mc012>sound devices mp2.The mixer is a peavey 12 channel unity 1000. All 12 channels have highz(1/4 inch) and lowz mic(xlr) inputs. He told me to use the high z mic inputs and keep the gain low. I try both the high z and lowz inputs and they both seem to work. Which one should I use?? I tried xlr output on the mp2>xlr lowz input on the mixer. I also tried stereo mini out on mp2>1/4 inch highz input on the mixer. The mixer also has a tape input and output. Should I use the main output of tape output??

From: Warren Melnick <warren.melnick@astata.com> Subject: A question of resistance Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2001 08:21:18 -0500 I have a question for all you hardware types out there. I have a 12V (generally less because of NiMH) power pack that I built that uses 8 "D" batteries. I want to put a couple of LEDs between the 4th and 5th battery. All atteries are in series. The LEDs will be oriented with opposite polarity and will be in parallel. Basically I want it to show green when in use and red when charging. Question are:. Can I put them there? If not where better to put them? Also, I assume that I will need to have some resistors in there so I do not smoke the LEDs, or at least melt the plastic around them. What resistors do I use, and more importantly, how do I go about figuring this out? I think I slept through that part of physics but. Am interested in learning it now. Any good online resources for this? Thanks, Warren ========================== Sent from my BlackBerry Wireless Handheld.
From: "Brian Kelley" <bpkelley@myexcel.com> Subject: ISO: Help w/ Turtle Beach Fiji I/O Card Date: Thu, 08 Mar 2001 06:57:52 -0800 Anybody out there who knows a bit about their Turtle Beach digital Fiji card? I am reinstalling the TB software in Windows 98. I was sure that I installed the right drivers which I downloaded via www.tbeach.com. (I think it's the Fiji407.zip file) My system seems to not find the TBS drivers or the Pro Mixer or anything. Now I'm having an error when I try to reinstall over my old folder. Apparently, Turtle Beach doesn't offer on-phone support for the Fiji or Pinnacle digital cards anymore. (So much for technical support, huh?) They decide to go to bigger, "better" things while leaving the all-digital cards out in the dust. So any help or useful info on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Brian
