Hey Now:
I was wondering if anyone knows what the taping policy is for Ben Harper
shows? I poked around the Ben Harper sites and couldn't find any relevant
info. He is playing the Palace in Albany next month and I'd like to tape
it. If Harper isn't particularly 'taper friendly', can anyone recommend
stealth mics to work with my Sony PCM-M1?
Thanks,
Pete

I have an extra copy of this show. Recorded with NAK 300. Great show indeed.
It's for the taking. CD or DAT trades preferred.
Thanks.

Hi,
I've got a SCMS questions that hopefully, someone here can help me with.
I've got an M1 that I use for taping shows. I use a MidiMan DeltaDIO 2496 in
my PC for transfers. Works great going in to the PC, the problem is when I
try to copy back to the DAT. As soon as I hit the record button on the DAT,
I get a "copy prohibit" on the display. I've got SCMS off on the MidiMan,
and according to the display on the M1, it's off there too (ID6 = 00).
Still, I can't record from the PC to the DAT.
Any suggestions?
Steve

The DAT Market posting has a section at the bottom for standalone burners.

The Supersuckers are plyaing a special acoustic gig, along w/ a bunch
of other bands at the Pound in San Fran on March 31. It's a benefit

Hi folks,
Picked up tix for the Brian Wilson tribute @ RCMH
next week. Unfortunately. I'm in the third row of the
third mezzanine. I would love to tape this, but all I
have is CSBs, and I assume I would need a cardioid from
such a distance. I'm not really familiar with the venue,
or in fact how far my seats are. I dunno maybe the CSBs
will do an adequte job. But I really dig Brian Wilson and
would love to come away with something sweet. Maybe I can rent
a nice set of mics??
Is anyone here taping this? I'd like to hear from you.
I'm assuming that the security at Radio City is a non-issue,
but please correct me if I'm wrong!
Also, not on this subject, I'm very keen on getting DAT clones
from the Pink Floyd '94 tour. Lots of super PF to swap.
A common show that I'm sure many people have is a Schoeps source
of July 9. '94 @ RFK Stadium. The person who sent it to me kindly
neglected to tell me about all the diginoise on it (there are WAY too
many people out there sending out shows with DN on it.Do they ever bother
to LISTEN to what they're sending out??) Would love a clean copy.
Thanks all.
Anthony

After a manual wet cleaning, I usually run one of the ART cleaners
through, but dry. This picks up any loose bits of foam swab that
may have gotten astray. They seem less abrasive (I could be wrong)
than the standard dry tapes and the cloth seems like it would pick
up loose bits better.

Howdy,
just taped yesterday night Jay Farrar Duo and Dave Alvin Trio, acoustic
version, from DSBD, they also play a couple of encores all together. Great show.
Total time of both shows together is approximately 2h 45min, send me your DAT
lists for trades if interested.
Regards,
Enrico
P.S.: Had also a fantastic Dave Alvin and full band from 2 days earlier, DSBD,
but since I just borrowed a Sony D7 I messed a little bit the levels with some
resulting distortion on the Dave's vocals, but soon should have a clean version
of this terrific show

Though my results are far from "just exactly perfect", I would like to

Thanks again to all those who chimed in w/some advice. It was all used!
FOB tapers out here..... You should try this if you can. Very natural
sounding recordings. Much different sound from the figure of 8's than a
pair of card's on your head. Love these MBHO's!!!!!
:)
email me off list for the b&p.
