Due to unforseen circumstances, I reluctantly have to
sell my ticket for U2 in San Jose this Friday. Would
love to get it into the hands of a taper. Face value
+ TM fees come to $145. It's a nice taping seat,
right at midcourt: section 101, row 12. Great viewing
too since the point of the heart should come to about
even with that section.

Are you kidding me? You are charging money for a CDR and not even
transferring the DAT digitally? Using the analog-in on a Soundblaster 64?
Puke.
This is the problem I have with CDR trades (in this case, sales). Nobody
seems to care whether or not care was taken to transfer the DAT digitally.
To me, CDR's best purpose is to provide a more convenient way to listen to
my DATs because the integrity of CDR trades is lacking. At least I know my
stuff is handled properly (via a SonicPort Optical, best piece of gear I
own.)

Hey all
Just wondering what setting on nak cm300s people use while taping, the lo or flat cut, also what is the difference. I am heading to tape cheese this weekend, and have been wondering about the settings since i bought the mics a month or so ago.

Only one end is accesible.
Does anyone know if/how/where I can get this fixed ?
The contents of the tape are very important to me.
I reply:
I have successfully fixed broken DAT tape a couple of times. Open the shell,
line the 2 ends of broken tape up with each other and then a put very thin
piece of scotch tape on the inside side of the tape (not the side that makes
contact with the DAT player's heads) holding the 2 broken ends together.
Carefully put tape shell back together and get ready to clone your fixed
tape. Play it once, making a clone, and don't play it again. There will be
dropouts/diginoise at the point of the splice.

Well, I thought the same. I finally went for a SCSI Plextor burner, and I
was burning one CD at x12 from an HD image file as source and had to throw
it after it reported an error during the process. I think I printed some
light file from a word processor. My system isn't obsolete by the way:
Athlon 1ghz + fujitsu ultra-ata 66 HD with large buffer. Perhaps the OS
has sth. to do! W95 osr2.

Due to public outcry on the sale of the shows, I will instead offer the shows for B+P to any DAT-Head interested in the show. Email me, mentioning DAT-Heads, and I'll get you going on this.

Hello, everyone.
My apologies for the off-topic post, but I've got some cassettes I'd like to
find a new home for. I've got about 250+ Type II cassettes. Most of them
are Maxell, but there are a few TDKs, some Sonys, etc. They don't have any
sleeves. They've all been used once and have music, but I've got no idea
what the music is.
If you're interested in them, I'd prefer to sell them all as one lot +
shipping. Please e-mail all offers to me privately at olympian90@aol.com --
thanks!
Tim
PS Shipping via UPS Ground would be the best deal.

For those of you who have the Ratdog tour yet coming through your town, I
have but one word: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I was at both the Mich shows and
they were stellar. The Kzoo show was by far the best Ratdog show I have
ever seen and the Royal Oak was not far behind. Anyone who doesn't believe
me can check out the setlists. The 2 set shows were each about 2:35-2:40
and featured the band performing many songs not done by them before. The
Mission>Aiko last Fri almost made me cry!!! And the Help>Slip>Frank as an
encore Sat was more than anyone could ask for. Both venues had no taping
section, just go where you want and didn't say anything about camera's
either. I took a whole roll between the 2 nights and am getting them back
tomorrow, so I'm crossing my fingers on the results. His sound is very
good, and the tapes are very nice. I would be willing to B&P 1 or 2 people,
but after that, those folks would have to spread it around. I would also be
willing to trade for other flawless clones of this tour....Dave

SEAGATE DAT DRIVE WITH AUDIO SUPPORT
Model # CTD8000R-S 3.5" form factor drive with rails and 5.25" bezel
This Peregrine series DAT drive has 4GB native capacity with 120m tapes and
8GB hardware compressed capacity. The drive supports both data and DAT
audio mode and can read/write audio with special software for the PC. SCSI
inquiry string reports "ARCHIVE Python 01931-XXX 5AC". This drive is used
but has been tested and is in working condition. The drive will extract
audio at approximately double speed (~2.2x). It will support SCSI-2,
single-ended, async/sync transmission. The SCSI connector is the narrow,
50-pin internal type. Windows 98/2000 will work with the appropriate SCSI
card and drivers. I know of Vdat and Dat2Wav software for Windows, but
there may be others that will read in audio mode. These programs require
ASPI drivers that are usually supplied by the SCSI card manufacturer.
No international shipments. Fixed insured shipping costs of $10 for UPS
ground or equivalent. BidPay accepted for credit card transactions. USPS
Money Order/Cashier's checks also accepted. E-mail datman@midsouth.rr.com
with any questions. Thanks for your interest.
