Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 04:06:45 -0400 Hey, I was wondering if G Love and the Special Sause allowed videotaping at their shows... I'm going to be hitting at least one of their shows in May at the Vic in Chicago, and I was curious. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Screech
From: larry horton <horton@mac.com> Subject: FS: Zefiro InBox Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 05:29:19 -0400 I'm selling my Zefiro InBox. It has the Core Sound 7-pin cable modification, and includes a stereo-mini-jack-to-XLR adapter cable. http://www.core-sound.com//inbox.html It's been used only a half-dozen times and is in perfect condition. My rig has changed and I no longer use it. Asking $325. Thanks
From: SlvrRcr@aol.com Subject: Creeper Lagoon@ Amoeba in SF Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 05:31:23 EDT This Saturday at Amoeba Records on Haight St. in SF an awesome band called Creeper Lagoon will be performing an acoustic set for free while they take a break from their national tour with Guided By Voices. They are touring to support their first major label release on Dreamworks titled "Take Back The Universe And Give Me Yesterday". Anyhow these guys are originally from SF and are super cool with audio and video taping of their show. They will be performing on the Craig Kilborn show on Tuesday 4/24 as well. Its a rare opportunity to catch these guys perform an acoustic set as a full band. I will be there filming on MiniDV and was hoping to get some of you fellow DATheads with some of your nice rigs out there to capture some audio magic. If anyone plans to attend please e-mail me back either at this address or at Orbital2CA@aol.com. I am very excited since these guys have recieved critical accolades from Spin Magazine(voted best new artist of 98')and Rolling Stone Magazine (cal! ling them the best kept secret o f the rock music industry). They recently toured with teh Dandy Warhols and also did a brief stint with The Cult. Please get in touch with me if you plan to attend..you won't be sorry!! Tom

From: Phillip303@aol.com Subject: D-8 decision: Oade mods, SBM-1 or Inbox? Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 11:25:49 EDT Picked up a sweet Nak CM300 rig (orig. cardboard boxes, instructions, CP 1,2,and 4 capsules) so it's time to deal with the mic pre-amp on my D-8. I'd like to hear from anybody who has had the Oade mods done to a D-8, as well as any feedback on the Zefiro/Deneke Inbox or Sony SBM-1. Can't afford the $$$ for a super rig right now, also prefer some simplicity, but kinda hesitant to crack open a functioning D-8. Thanks, Phil Tucson

They are a great band, and I would love to get it on tape. If anyone can go I'd be happy to pay for the ticket (it is probably cheap anyway), and offer a trade from my list. From: Donald Forsha <dat_head2001@yahoo.com> Subject: Trade: mint DA-20mkII for portable DAT Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 11:28:27 -0700 (PDT) I have a mint condition DA-20mkII with low hours that I'd like to trade for a portable in excellent condition. I purchased it new from Sonic Sense and have all the original packaging, etc. I've had no problems with it whatsoever, and it's been a great machine. I'd like to trade simply because I don't use it much anymore and would get more use out of a portable. Can also throw in an Audio Magic Presto II coax cable if similar connectors/accessories are included w/ your portable. thanks, Donald __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? From: "Darrin McKeehen" <dmckeehen@hotmail.com> Subject: Bad Trader? Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 22:33:47 Hey Now, Most of you probably saw my post about getting the Badtrans virus. Well, it's all fixed now. And it's safe to email me etc. I will spare you all the details. Now, I have another headache and his name is Christopher Martel. I opened up my emails and had not one but 2 nasty emails from Christopher Martel. I REALLY did not appreciate the nasty emails from him. Unfortunately, last night when I was replying to all my emails etc. I deleted them both. I mainly deleted his notes because I thought this was over. I sent him an explanation and it was a pretty nice note, or so I thought. After taking the time to explain what happened and that I had no control over it in a very nice way, I asked him if was still going to get nasty w/ me. I wish now, that I would have saved them for everyone to see. But I did not because I wanted to stay positive and move on from this very negative experience. Well guess what? I got another negative note from him saying that he trashed my B&P. (see below) I was NOT acting like a "tough guy". Anyone that knows me knows that I don't pull that crap. In fact, Christopher was the one that sent the 2 "tough guy" nasty notes in the first place. Not me. There are a whole slew of folks that could all tell you that I don't pull any tough guy routine. Being 6'3" and 230 lb, I don't really have to "act" like a "tough guy". This is completely and totally immature and really uncool. A virus gets passed my antivirus software while I am away at Phil & Friends. I come home, open my email and realize what happened. Then I spend $80 and nearly 3 full days fixing the problem and this guy sends me nasty notes and trashes my B&P because he says I was acting like a "tough guy". What a bunch of crap!! If you don't wanna burn my discs for me, put a piece of tape on the shipper and mail them back. Don't trash my B&P because you have issues that have nothing to do w/ me. Chris, I think you are the one w/ the ego. I am certainly not pulling some power trip w/ you like you appear to be pulling w/ me. Grow up man! I am a 36 year old man. My first Phish show was 3/14/92. I really don't need this childish behavior. BTW, if you've gotten this far..... I heard that the band that was scheduled to play HIGHER GROUND in Vermont tomorrow cancelled and Oysterhead is going to play for 4/20. It's just a rumor, but it could be true. Bandwidth tax: I will B&P either 2/26 (Cash McCall's Rig) or 2/28 (TLM 170 rig) to the first 2 that respond. Reply-To: Sean Kennedy <liam@fedney.tech.xo.com> Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 22:09:46 -0400 Hi, I have some obligations that are causing me to cancel plans to attend Merlefest this year (Wilkesboro, NC, 4/26-29). My tickets are in Row 17, seats 26&27. Note that they are not in the "taper section" (if they still have that), but I feel a better location. They also include Midnight jam tickets which are hard to come by. No obligation to tape, just enjoy yourself. I wanted to offer them here first. Let me know soon if you are interested. Email fine, phone is 781-488-0692. Sean
