Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of the set times
for this current tour.
Looking at taping one of the Chicago shows and need to make
sure batteries/tapes will work for the length sets.
Hoping a single 90m would work, but wouldn't mind two 60's
one for each. Batteries are my main concern.
Thanks.

Has anyone used, or know anyone who has used the new Stanton STR8-80
turntable with the spdif out? I'm curious if its worth it. Seems cheap for a
direct drive turntable with a a/d converter. Sorry for the non dat content,
but I want to put rare records to dat>cd.
thanks,
Geoff

Wayne will probably jump in on this, as well, but I can assure you that
these drives will read LP mode tapes with appropriate software.

I am very much interested in having a couple of webcasts to be put on VCD or
SVCD(whichever, I don't know which one, really). I don't have the resources
or the know-how to do so, so, please, if you know how and want to help me
out by burning these webcasts to VCD or SVCD for me, please send me an
e-mail and let me know what I can do for you. Thanks.

I'm a budget taper...meaning that I don't have lots of
money to spend on recording toys. My current rig is
a pair of Oktava MC-012's->Audio Buddy Pre-> Flying
Calf A/D->D7. I've made some really great recordings
with this rig, but I know that I'm not doing my mics
much justice. Although my recordings sound good,
I don't think that they sound as warm as they should, so
I'm thinking about upgrading my preamp. In a couple
of years I'll be able to afford a V2 or something similar
but for the time being I'm looking into something cheaper.
I've been doing some research on small stereo
preamps and I came across the Blue Tube made by
PreSonus. You can read a review here:
http://www.digitalprosound.com/2001/03_mar/reviews/presonus.htm
So...I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with
this preamp, or if anyone has any other suggestions. Every
review that I've read has had nothing but positive things
to say about the Blue Tube and a couple of the reviews
actually recommended it for stereo recording to DAT. I've
found it on the web for $160. Any thoughts?? Thanks...
Mike

If you have a 3-CD show, you can typically fit all of the little files
on 2 data CDs. You typically can't fit the three big .shn files on 2
data CDs.

Hey folks -
does Patti Smith allow open taping nowadays?
If so, do you have to clear it with somebody in
advance?
Any help would be appreciated.
