Date: Fri, 1 Jun 2001 17:26:46 -0400 Hello all, This was my first SCI show and I have been searching for a complete DAT copy for a while now. I have gotten a few responses from previous posts, but all have fallen through. If anybody can provide me w/ a high quality copy I would greatly appreciate it. Have much to offer in trade (http://sjfc.edu/~dam8503/list/dat_list.html) or can send B&P. Thanks for the bandwidth! Peace, Dave :)-~ ------------------------------ From: PJFraley@aol.com Subject: AD1000 & Sony D8 no input? Date: Fri, 1 Jun 2001 17:29:44 EDT I run AKG 480's>Apogee AD1000>D8 at a lot of local shows and don't often have many patchers. However, last weekend I went to patch another D8 into the extra AD1000 coax output, which resulted in a "no input" on my deck. The newly patched D8 received signal. Switching things around, both D8's received signal when chained from one of the Apogee coax outs (via Oade cable), leaving the 2nd coax unused. To put it in different words: when 2 D8's are patched simultaneously using both Apogee coax outputs, one deck receives no input. Any Apogee users out there run into this problem? I want to think it's a D8 issue, but any advice would be appreciated... Thanks, Jason ------------------------------ From: Klay Anderson Subject: Bias vs. Phantom; Not The Same Date: Fri, 01 Jun 2001 16:33:17 -0600 There has been some confusion regarding the co-mingling (gasp!) of the terms "bias" and "phantom" as they apply to wireless transmitters and the like. They are not interchangeable and I have taken the liberty to put together a bulletin from Shure and Sennheiser on the subject. It is a 2.7m PDF file; sorry about the size... See: http://www.klay.com/klay/Bias_Phantom.pdf Thanks! -- Regards, Klay Anderson, D.A.,Q.B.E. Date: Fri, 01 Jun 2001 17:37:57 -0500 Sorry for the cross posting. I'm in a bind, I'm in Chicago and the Black Crowes / Oasis show is in Detroit and I can no longer attend. I have two tickets at will call (DTE Energy Music Center - formerly known as Pine Knob) for this show. I'm not sure if I can call the box office and switch the name they are held for or not, but if possible I'd like to sell the tickets. Cost me $101 total, I'll sell for half at $50. Tickets are: Sec. LT9, Row TT, Seats 42 & 43. Not the best seats in the world, but good overall... and heck you are getting two for the price of one anyway (provided I can switch the name on the tickets). I can be reached by my e-mail quickly. If interested, please leave me a phone number where I can call you and we can talk. I have to wait until 10 AM on Saturday for the Box Office (will call you after 10 AM Easter time, but will e-mail upon receiving your message) to open to try to switch the name over. Payment can be sent after the show obviously. Thanks for the rant... as Bandwidth Tax I'll offer up three copies (CD-R) of my wind laden master of Spacehog / Oasis / Black Crowes from the Chicago show from 5/02/01 in Chicago. Show was AT933 (hypercardiod's) to an M1 from lower pavilion, right side of stage. E-mail me for the copies, buyer gets the same. If you switched the Apogee outputs, did the same deck receive input? Did the decks have active or passive cables? It's quite possible that a D8 requires an active cable from an Apogee, but not from another D8.
