If you have masters burned onto cheap media, I highly suggest you respin it onto a better disc. I had some discs I burned on Anton generic media in 1998 die on me in 1999. The blue-green dye in the cheap disc turned golden and ran all over the disc. When played, it will barely register and sounds like a bad disc. You definitely get what you pay for, and though more expensive, Taiyo Yuden and Mitsui seem to work well. This is a Super Seven Stereo Soundboard recording if anyone is into this band. P.s. I also did Banyan tonight /w Tony Franklin. He is one *hot* bass player and a real foil for Nels in this band. --G ------------------------------ From: PAUL HOVORAK Subject: Which Zolrtix Nightingale Date: Sun, 17 Jun 2001 22:42:33 -0700 (PDT) Which model of the Zoltrix Nightingale is the one discussed so much in the last few months. Date: Mon, 18 Jun 2001 08:35:18 EDT Hey gang, Is this the next conspiracy? Did Spinal Tap really play in North America at 3-4 venues across the US? I have seen the reviews, I have heard it from the groupies with cold sores, I have seen large cucumbers in tin foil confiscated at Airport metal detectors, But I'll be damned if I can find ANYBODY who taped them at any of the venues..... Come on, kick down, and lets have some fun with the Tap already. I see I am not the only one out there interested... By the way for you TAPheads out there. If you haven't seen the "This is Spinal Tap" DVD, it has a killer feature where you can hear the band giving commentary during the movie. Its kind of like watching the movie with them. This is the excuse you needed to go get that DVD player you have always talked yourself out of because you have a hi fi VCR. "........taking my pitchfork - poking your hay...." Later on, Dave ------------------------------ From: Beast914@aol.com Subject: SCMS from the DVD?? A BFD!! Date: Mon, 18 Jun 2001 09:54:13 EDT I spent about five hours integrating a new DVD player into my system. I took the S/PDIF out of the player and sent it to my DAT (ZA5ES) recorder. When I put the DAT deck into REC to pass the DVD's signal through it, the DAT deck comes up "PROHIBIT"!!! I was shocked!! Then I put a Stripper into the chain and sure enough, the DAT permitted the recording. SO: Is my DVD machine spitting out SCMS? Or is the DVD doing it?? Im shocked that its an issue. Now I need ANOTHER Stripper!! Anyone selling one (that passes the start IDs through)? Is the CO3 the most cost effective way to strip the signal? Thanks.
