Unfortunately it didn't come with the BP-P20 nicad rechargeables. Are these still available? Does anyone make a battery for the DA-P20 that will last longer than 2 hours? Thanks in advance for the help. I know this sounds pretty ridiculous....but a gal at work is a huge Ricky Martin fan. I would be interested in any shows, broadcast (there was a 4/01 singapore broadcast), or anything...english or spanish. I thought I had a trade set up, but I think it has fallen through.... peter b at pbdlist@hotmail.com, are you still out there? In return, I have a huge list with tons of jazz, funk and jamband/dead related cdr/shn/dats (>3500 hrs). I am offering up phil's recent collaboration with bobby as the crusader rabbit stealth band(coming soon to me) or phil's 4/20/01 sbd release... or anything off my list. I would also take SCI 4/25/01 Louisville, Ky for these. Please no grovels for these...they will be spread soon far and wide. I am just trying to secure some Ricky Martin or SCI 4/25/01 while the getting is good ;^) peace, Chris Mescia ------------------------------ From: Rich Mays Subject: Jeff Patton FOUND! Reply-To: richmays@home.com Date: Tue, 19 Jun 2001 19:22:19 +0000 This is to let the list know that I have communicated with Jeff, and the capsule transaction will soon be resolved. For those interested, he now resides in San Jose CA. ------------------------------ From: Eric C Zlotogura Subject: sony d8 for sale... Date: Tue, 19 Jun 2001 19:15:14 -0500 (EST) Hi all, I recently purchased a brand new Sony D8 on March 1. I used it to tape around 40 hours since purchase. Recently, it has had some problems with the pinch roller system (more details can be supplied if you email me back. My friend had the same problem fixed by Prodigital, so I can supply all the details from his repair sheet, so you know what to expect, etc. They worked for two hours on his deck). I have called the guys at Prodigital, and they figure that within an hour or two worth of repairs they can get it fixed (though they cannot guarentee such a claim, they are the most trusted repair outlet out there, and it took two hours to fix my friends deck). Repairs go for $65/hr. I cannot afford to get this unit fixed at this time, and I really dont mind unloading it now. I am offering up the following deal with the deck, the connectors needed, DAT masters, battery packs, etc, which I think is extremely fair. The price is $475 (a few bucks will be added depending on your shipping preferences), or best offer. The Sony D8 deck with: -leather case -rechargable 15 hour battery pack with charger no ac adaptor (had to use its parts for the battery, but with the pack, no real need for the adaptor anyways) -A modified 7-pin Sony digi-cable -coax cable -1/8-->1/8 cable -and my entire collection of adaptors, that allow u to go from XLR (male or female), rca, or 1/4 all down to 1/8 for various patching situations. - around 20+ DAT masters I wont need anymore, such as DMB shows, Pat McGee Band, Blues Traveler, Jason Crosby, etc. Please, I am selling these off for the price of the media, 2 bucks per tape, no profit or anything. You can even erase the masters if you desire. - I even have some blank DATs laying around, around 15 60m tapes and 20 90m tapes. If you are interested, you can have those at cost, they are the Sony's, $2.20 a tape. A new deck might cost ya around $600, modified cable around $150, then my collection of connectors, the battery pack (eco-charger costs ya $100), etc etc. As you can see, if you can afford to pay for the fixing, so at most $150-ish, this is a steal for ya. Really want to sell as a package deal. Please email me privately, ezlotogu@indiana.edu for fastest response. that is my story and I am sticking to it, Eric ******************************************************************************* "Playing the harmonica is like being good at sex, you have to know the right time and the right place to suck and blow..." Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2001 08:54:08 +0200 Hello fellow dat-heads, I hope this subject hasn't been brought up too often before - if so, please accept my humble apologies...My question concerns stealth microphone techniques. I've been through the microphone faq a few times now, but am left wondering: how much of it is applicable in stealth taping - there's only so much gear that you can put into a hat, your shirt, etc. How do you place your microphones in stealth situations? Thus far, I've only done a few shows, with my miniature cardioid mikes at ear level, attached to my glasses. This gives satisfactory results when I am in line with the center of the stage, but the result is a lot less good if I am off center. Should I have my microphones set at 90 degrees in a hat, or what? I'd be grateful if any of you could share some of your stealth experience. Secondly, I live in Switzerland, and Dat tape is horribly expensive here - does anyone in Switzerland/Germany/France have any solutions to this problem? Many thanks, Alisdair Menzies, http://membres.tripod.fr/Alisdair_Menzies/trade.html _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ From: "Dave Kent" Subject: ISO: Brian Wilson/Paul Simon 6/13/01 Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2001 08:12:47 -0700 Subject says most of it. Can somebody please steer me in the direction of a distributor for a Zoltrix Nightingale Sound Card? I have been informed that they no longer carry them in the U.S. Also, a half dozen Canadian distributors have told me they do not carry it as well. Yahoo has a card for sale, but I am not sure it is not the right one since some contain the phrase "Pro 6". Otherwise, can somebody suggest a good starter card for digital transferring, under $200. Much thanks Kyle ------------------------------ From: Thomas Plum Subject: Missing instruction manual for the Sony RK-DA10P Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2001 14:08:51 -0500 I just received a digital connecting cable for my M1 and it did not have the instruction manual, only what was printed on the box. The box was opened at the store and was repackaged but the cable is new. My POC-DA12P cable came with a manual or instruction sheet so I figure the RK-DA10P would as well. Would someone copy the one or two sheet manual for the POC-DA12P and fax it to me? Please contact me off the list.
