I have about 4000 hours of Dead/Phish/Phil&F..... Thanks,Marcello ------------------------------ From: "Gary Davis" Subject: Denon DN-C550R dual-pro CD recorder Reply-to: gdavis@loop.com Date: Fri, 6 Jul 2001 16:57:29 -0700 >Anyone have experience with the Marantz CDR-500? I think this >is the right one - it was on sale at Am-Dig a while back (dual-well >pro burner w/ SRC...) Feedback appreciated... We sell this model, and it works, certainly, but the controls are a bit "quirky," and the one I tested didn't always record on Immation blanks... We just got in a new unit from Denon, a Pro dual CD recorder/copier called the DN-C550R, that seems more user- friendly. It does everything the Marantz does, and cost the same, but the controls are more normal (ie, Japanese design rather than European), and it works just fine with Immation blanks. * pro CD recorder ignores SCMS and uses the cheap "computer" blanks * 1X or 2X dubbing * Sample Rate Converter & start_ID converter for DAT tapes * Coaxial, Optical, and RCA-analog inputs and outputs * CD players can operate independently * Digital volume control can turn up "soft" DATs up to +12dB I don't think we're allowed to say the price, but it's about the same as a portable Sony DAT recorder. With a stand-alone recorder you can make perfect CD copies of CDs or DATs, but you can also use it to "input" the data into your computer instead of a digital sound card - this method avoids all the complications and "conflicts" that are so common with computer cards. thank you, --Gary ------------------------------ From: "That Damn Band" Subject: Slayer July 5th St.Paul Minnesota Reply-To: "That Damn Band" Date: Fri, 6 Jul 2001 19:39:36 -0500 Slayer July 5th 2001 Xcel Center St.Paul Minnesota "Full Moon Fidelity" section 117 row 5 seat 3 (thats like 20 rows from Stage under Left stack) what needs to be said... other then this took my mind back again to seeing Slayer live at 1st Ave on Nov 15th 1986.... any of these boots exist? The short one is the PB 1000 "presence boost adapter" and the long one is the PPC 1000 "polar pattern converter". Danish radio will be airing a concert soon and I am now looking for someone to record it for me (preferably on DAT). Please tell me if you could do this for me. I have much to trade (many other artists as well) - including many masters. Here's the exact info: Part1: Monday 16th July 2001, 23:08 - 24:00 Part2: Tuesday 17th July 2001, 23:08 - 24:00 www.dr.dk/p3/p3live Thank you very much in advance. Sebastian ------------------------------ From: "Javi Dieguez" Subject: FS: Midia prodif plus Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 16:43:47 +0200 After upgrading to a ZA2 which allows me to do real time resampling on my slow P166, I don't need my Midia Prodif Plus card anymore. It is a discontinued great ISA card manufactured by www.scalacs.de that has served me well these last years. Works with Win-95&98 It has S/PDIF coaxial and optical I/O, and allows transfers to and from the computer at 32K, 44.1K and 48K without resampling. Great for those who have fast computers and prefer to resample by software. But the card works even with a 386. It is very reliable, check the datheads archives for more info. I'm looking for US$75 OBO for it. BWT: 1xB&P smashing pumpkins 31/jul/98 boston orpheum FM>DAT>CDR ------------------------------ From: sloansimpson@mindspring.com Subject: McCoy Tyner taping?? Date: Sat, 07 Jul 2001 12:20:55 -0400 Hey there, Once again, I need to know anyone's recent experiences taping (or trying to tape) McCoy Tyner's trio. Has anyone ever actually inquired? Or does everyone interested just stealth. I'm a full-rig taper who's only stealthed twice (once with fantastic results, once unlistenable), and really don't want the hassle of borrowing a Sony, concealing it, etc. Plus, I'm something of a 'known taper' at the venue!! Just pipe-dreaming that I could hopefully get my DA-P1 in and get a SBD patch, then just kick back, close eyes, and enjoy the man! Any on-or-off-list info would be greatly appreciated! Someone posted about being ISO trades and I responded. I have since spaced that person's e-mail. You had a couple Mike CLarks I wanted to get. If this rings a bell with anyone, drop me a line. BWT: I just got an Oade Mod SBM1. It has the 24bit upgrade and an added coax digi out. All I can say at this point is that it sounds a hell of a lot better than my dmic20 ever did. I will offer for B&P for several people a copy of Dirty Dozen Brass Band I taped last THursday. Or Chris Duarte Group tonight. Drop me a line and I'll send my addy. In exchange, I will cheerfully accept $2.50 per tape or $37.50 total in the form of a money order or cashier's check. I'm sure everyone here agrees that this covers the cost of the tapes only. Almost all of these tapes are labeled with printed setlists and have all been stored in a drawer away from dust and sunlight. This is a great way to build your old-school WSP collection very quickly. The '92 shows were quite rare at the time I received them and all of these tapes are of good sound quality. The only Panic shows I'm keeping for myself are the shows I attended and/or mastered. They seem like a pretty good card. Which brings me to this link. 24 bit 96k sound cards for $159 http://bayviewproaudio.com/SaleTime.asp Lastly, I had a _bad_deal_ go down at a tape retailer who held my order for 11 days while they were out of stock / on vacation, and ignored my emails. Therefore, I can wholeheartedly reccommend American DIgital for blanks. Professional, prompt, courteous. http://www.american-digital.com/ -jas ------------------------------ From: "Peter Hicks" Subject: FS: Tascam DA-302 dual-well DAT deck Date: Sat, 07 Jul 2001 17:27:00 -0400 Subject says it all. Now I'm ready to spend a little money on a deck (M1) and some mics. I would always record stealth and in larger venues (Arenas, Stadiums, maybe the occasional large club 1500+ seats) I know this will open up some debate, but I'm looking for the best mics for less than $300. Looking at: CSB's with Switchable Battery Box (http://www.core-sound.com/mics.html) or Sound Professionals Binaural Mics SP-BMC-8 Premium Shure Binaurals (with clips, side cable) (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/binaural.html) I like the idea of the Shures and that I can replace the capsules, but many folks have the CSB's and they seem like a standard in the price range I wanna start with. Anything else I should be looking at? Reply on list or off! -Chrisedge PS. I have lots of current U2 elevation shows (50+). Looking for common older U2 stuff. email me. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo!
