I have many hours of HQ "masters" from CLASSIC to ALTERNATIVE to METAL. My setup is: MBHO's>MP-2>SBM-1>D100 (always in the sweet spot!) I'm mainly looking for anything recent from bands like Tool, U2, Radiohead, Godsmack, Ben Harper, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Aerosmith, Clapton, King Crimson, Ani DiFranco, and lots in between. Pretty much anything from "high-end rigs" that really smokes. I've been pretty spoiled since I upgraded to MBHO's. Your list gets mine. If you don't have a list, just let me know of some recent things you've taped, and I'll get back with you. I have a very strange problem with my deck that I'm hoping you guys can help me with. I have a Tascam DA-302 which I use to copy DATs, and a Titanium powerbook with a VX Pocket that I use to transfer DATs to CD. My deck doesn't work completely in the first place, but it has worked well enough that I can copy DATs, untill now. The initial problem is that deck one will not play DATs, but it records them perfectly (fully playable on another deck). The only issue with that problem is that I can't use the dubbing feature on the 302, I have to record from deck two to deck one through the digital connections on the back. Recently, however, I connected deck two to my VX pocket on my computer so I could do a DAT to CD transfer. When I tried to record to the hard drive though, the program I'm using came up with no levels, and didn't record anything. Then I switched the cable so that it was connected to deck one's input again, and deck one didn't recognize any signal from it either. Then I took out all the dats and powered the whole thing down, powered it back up again, put the dats in and tried again, and deck one recieved a signal this time, but If I so much as take off one end of the cable it loses it and must be powered down again. The analog outs on deck two recieve a signal and I can hear the tape if I hook my stereo up to it, so I suppose it's a problem with the digital output on deck one. What I really want to know is, has anyone had this happen before? Could it be a problem with the VX Pocket messing up the deck? I've been meaning to take it somewhere to be fixed anyway, but I haven't had the money, and I'd like to have an Idea of how much it will cost before I do. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Unfortunately, they've bribed Congress to not only make those boxes illegal, but to violate the First Amendment so that it's illegal even to discuss how such a box might work. Seth ------------------------------ From: "john e. bogus" Subject: Black Sabbath/Ozzfest Date: Sat, 21 Jul 2001 11:30:21 -0400 My latest offering for the list is Black Sabbath 7/20/01 Nissan Pavillion, Stone Ridge, VA. Stealthed from the very front of the very center of the lawn...surprisingly little audience noise, great sounding tape. 80 minutes running time. Heavy security at this venue, sorry no video for this one. Anyone interested in this tape, please remember that I'm backed up on trades right now with quite a few waiting....there will be a wait while I dig myself out but this tape is worth the wait. No, I didn't record any of the other bands, just Black Sabbath. Anyone else taping on this tour, if you are up front be prepared to protect your setup from lots of water being sprayed around from the stage. I also have tix for Pittsburgh (looks like the best prospect for video) and 2nd night in Homdel, NJ. Who else is on this tour? Email to mallness@surfbest.net if interested. Thanks for the posting... This bag had my Oade cable, a coax cable and two blank 60m DATs. My D8 has a Giraffe sticker on the lower left hand corner. Unfortunately I had a run in with the man and was asked to leave the venue a little bit early. On my way out I was able to grab my backpack, but did not realize that my tape recorder was not in my backpack until I was getting ready for the Bisco/Ratdog/Phil show today. I checked with the venue and took a look through their lost & found but nothing turned up...I'm hoping one of the other tapers grabbed it on their way out. If so, please get in touch with me via this email address or at the number below.
