I'd like to sell the Zoltrix Nightingale Pro for the $50 I have in it, pus $5 for Priorit mail to you. It will be packaged in the original a second box, and shipped Priority Mail. Keith ------------------------------ From: "John" Subject: help with burning data CD Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 06:36:21 -0600 I tried to burn a CD of data (SHN) with 691 MB. I used a 700MB CDR. My burner is a SONY CRX100E and I use Adaptec 4.02aS1. It seems the software gets to the closing process and can not finalize. So why do I get an error? I appreciate any help. ttfn John ------------------------------ From: acffhmorst Subject: Re: Is Anyone Taping this Performance? ;) Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 07:46:27 -0500 This is not really that difficult in principle, it's the sitting there doing it that's tricky. . . TO tape the John Cage piece, we need a digital converter with more than one output, such as the SBM-1. Two different decks can be run off of its separate digital outputs. The decks can be run overlapping. For instance, if you have a 2 hour tape, run it for 1:50, then start the second deck. You will have about 10 minutes of overlap in which you can find a perfect splice point later. Now the problem is getting the bitmapper and preamp to run continuously. . . we will need (for each one) a pair of gel-cels, or SLA's, and a y-adaptor, in this way, the voltage can be kept constant to the DC input of the converter and pre. Seems like it would be a big challenge to tape his masterpiece: "4:33". . that will test the noise floor of even the best gear!!! heh! -tom ps- and folks will think we're nuts of course, running in and out with lead-acid batteries, bringing the freshly-charged ones in from outside and ditching the spent ones out to the car, RV, campsite, wherever the charger is kept! ALL STEALTH! >"Last Wednesday, at midnight in Halberstadt, Germany, a capacity >audience attended the world premiere of Cage's ORGAN2/ASLSP. That >stands for "As Long As Possible". >>What about tapers, Its a long time to sit still if you go in stealth. . . . and when the hell we gonna' do the tape changes? =p -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ------------------------------ From: Gear119348@aol.com Subject: Soundcard for DAT Transfer? Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 08:59:52 EDT Hi All I'm overwhelmed by the choice of souncards. I'm trying to find an economical card that I can use to transfer from my Dat deck to my computer (for cdr burning). Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't need a lot of "bells and whistles", just a nice simple card with a digi in jack that doesn't compromise the integrity of my "ones and zeros" during the transfer. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Terry ------------------------------ From: "Bruce Bornstein" Subject: FS: Zefiro ZA2 sound card Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 12:07:53 -0400 I'm selling my ZA2. Accepting reasonable offers. thanks ------------------------------ From: "Steve Trick" Subject: ISO: DMB 8/28/2001 Salt Lake City Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 15:51:31 Hey, I'm looking for a nice copy of Dave in Salt Lake City from August 28th. I need someone to stealth tape Tori Amos for me on November 6 in Salt Lake City UT. DAT only, please. I will cover your ticket. This will be her first solo tour since 1994, and I expect the shows to be amazing. At this point, SLC is one of the few places where I don't have a DAT taper. Also, I'm in need of someone to DAT the show in Seattle, wA on November 9. Please contact me if you're able to help document this historic tour. I just would like to express my sympathies and prayers to all who have been touched by the tragedies that have touched us all in the last couple of days and will possibly continue for several more. I have met and traded information, music and just plain pleasantries with many of you on the right coast. I know that my family has been touched as have many others. I would like to offer some sort of help to any and all of you that I can. I know it is not much , but if you need help please ask. I will do what I can as I am sure that any other person on this list will. Peace and love to all, Michael __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? They have only been used 4 or 5 times. This is a fairly thick cable (0.5" diameter) with a protective mesh around the cable. They sound excellent, are grain boundary free, and made of extremely pure copper. I'm asking $420 (new they were $609) which includes shipping. Check out the harmonic technology web page for more information. This is an excellent high end cable for those looking to upgrade. I used them with the Schoeps 4V capsule with excellent results. thanks, Pete ------------------------------ From: Clark Guy Subject: Re:ISO: Batteries for NAK CM300s Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 15:33:21 -0500 HI! I didn't see a response to your question, so here's mine: For several years, I've been using a 12V garage door opener battery in a machined plastic adapter I made while still working as an R&D engineer in each of my CM-300s and CM-100s. These worked fine, and I'd recommend doing this, except that the adapter isn't a no-brainer to make (but I"m sure one could kludge up something to hold the battery in position and connect to both the spring contact at the bottom and the contact under the capsule). Now, however, I have discovered that a company called SAFT makes a 3.6V 950mAh 1/2AA battery, part number LS14250 . This battery can be used in pairs to make 7.2V, pretty close to the original 9V. The benefit of using these is that they seem to last forever. I've been using mine for a couple of years now, and gotten a couple of dozen concert recordings on them (I record my own orchestra and band concerts). One source of these batteries is: http://www.batteryguys.com/saft_lithium.asp I did a search for Lithium and ls14250 and came up with two pages on AltaVista of sources for said battery. It should be on the order of US$6.00 ea. Hope this helps! Guy Clark btw, I like my Naks.
