From: "Joe Ray Skrha" <joeray@ptialaska.net> Subject: FARM AID of satellite WILD FEED - SBS-6 Tr.6 Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 17:34:36 -0800 Hello Friends, If any DAT headers recorded FarmAid off the Satellite Feed on SBS-6 = Tr.6. It is without commercials or advertising... If you have it, = please let me know. Plenty of masters or wild feeds on DAT (or video) = to trade. Peace, Joe Ray at: joeray@ptialaska.net =20
From: "Gary Davis" <gdavis@loop.com> Subject: No "clean" feed of Farm Aid Reply-to: gdavis@loop.com Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 18:54:50 -0700 There was no "clean" feed of Farm Aid this year, just the feed to CMT. So the best chance for a complete tape will be an audience recording. --G

From: "George S." <fearless-pigeon@nac.net> Subject: roger waters "tour forest" ...signups for #10 and#11 Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 22:37:59 -0400 hi everyone, next up are two more excellent shows... jones beach, wantaugh ny 8/7/99 -core sound biaugs>bass roll off-d-8 row r sec 102 and wallingford ct. 8/8/99 - nakamichi cm 700-tcd-d8 sec c row a. these two are really electifying performances, and the nak recording is one of the best in the forest . i just can't say enough about the nakamichi cm 700's.they just provide a rich, beautiful, and full sound that really captures the music true to it's original form. unless you have the funds to pick up a pair of coveted gefells i highly advise you to hunt these mics down and purchase them! (i bought 2 pairs myself). so again please put "tour forest #10+#11" branch or leaf in the subject and your email addy in the body of the mail.if you live outside the u.s. then also state which country your from. remember that if you sign up as a branch you will be burning 4 80 min discs and must be able to take on up to five leaves . hope your all enjoying the shows so far.. and hopefully we'll get out the replacement toronto show out to you all before long. we will contact everyone involved in that tree personally when the time comes. lastly, art will be available for the whole entire forest. this is a project in itself so we figured it was best to get the music out there first and take our time to get something really special for this entire collection so just hang in there. shine on...and never forget.. george s.

From: "Jackson Gibbs" <gibbs@crater.net> Subject: Alternative to Zoltrix Nightengale recording software?? Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 21:16:07 -0700 I've just begun using my new Nightengale Pro 6 and have to say the software leaves much to be desired. What other software can I use (in Win2k) for recording digi-in? Does it have to be a driver-specific thing like the Nightengale's software or can I use Soundforge XP or the like? Thanks, Jackson Gibbs

Its been the discussion all over etree for the last 3 days IMHO, 200 kodaks for $59 isnt all that great anyway. Now the 50-spindles of T-Y's at office max last week for $6.99 was another story :) JL ======================== I bought a 50 pack from Office Depot of their branded 80 min cd's, thinking they'd be TY. When I ID them in EAC, they come up as Digital Storage Technology Co., Ltd. I also noticed that they were made in Taiwan. Did I pick up the wrong pack? Does this vary from store to store? They were so cheap after rebate that I'm certainly not complaining, just curious. Thanks, Alan =============================================================== NetZero Platinum Only $9.95 per month! From: Thomas Wulf <TaWulf@compuserve.com> Subject: good AD/DA? Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2001 05:30:12 -0400 <If you want a good AD/DA, get a cheap SB/Live Value. hardly. = it is much better imo to use your decks for this = than to risk picking up static hum in the pc = in addition to the lousy DA the SB does. = its DC offset alone is awful = (easily corrected but still a sign of bad quality).. = so, quite true to your 'pick any two' remark = with a sb live you're fast and cheap but hardly right. terratec's 96/24 is affordable and claims = to be the right card for audiphiles = but you would still have to shield it from its hostile environment.. :):):)

From: Dsom1phys@aol.com Subject: RK-DA10P Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2001 18:17:54 EDT Does anyone know where I can get a straight-up (unmodified) coax-in to 7-pin cable like the ones Sony used to make? Does Sony even make these anymore? I'd like to go from the AD-20 Zefiro's mini-coax-out to an M-1 while giving the optical-out to a minidisc. Are there any other options? It seems like a waste to not use both outputs. Thanks, Gabe
