>M1>A3>OKMII/R>SBM1
Well this is confusing. People tend to read left to right and
the arrows would tend to indicate signal flow. I believe it should
read:
OKMII/R>A3>SBM1>M1 (mics, battery box, SBM1, deck)
>M1:
>44.1, recording level manual, Line in
With the SBM1, the setting on the M1 is irrelevant, the deck is
getting a digital signal from the SBM1.
>SBM1:
>I made a quick test with LINE IN but the rec levels of
>the M1 simply didnt worked so, I switched to MIC, OK
>there were te usual levels, the MIC ATT was set to 0Db
Well there's you're problem, you overloaded the mic input on the
SBM1, what is known as brickwalling. Again, with the SBM1, the
level control on the M1 doesn't matter, only the level control
on the SBM1. You needed to go line-in on the SBM1, and use the
record level control on the SBM1 while watching the meter on
the M1. To use line input you need to use the RCA jacks, though?

Even though I have multiple DAT decks, I occasionally make a HD > DAT
copy for one reason or another. Using Windows NT4.0 and the LynxOne
sound card, the results have been flawless so far as other traders and
myself have been able to tell. BUT - this computer is used for audio only
(no possibility of interference from other applications), and NT is a whole
different world from W95/98.
As always, YMMV.

Can anybody recommend a good DAT repair and/or CD burner repair place? It
doesn't have to be in California since I will gladly mail either or both
machine to a reputable repair place, though Bay Area or LA locations are
easier since that's where I'll be on an upcoming trip.
Thanks much.

Hi all. Starting next sunday, Glen Phillips (from Toad The Wet Sprocket) will be on a
co-headlining tour with Nickle Creek, the Bluegrass teenage trio from San Diego. Each artist
will perform their own set, then close the night by performing together. I'll be hitting 4 shows
this month and next recording, as Glen is taper friendly, audience only though. If anyone else
feels the need to record some of these shows, the schedule can be found at www.glenphillips.com.
i'll be open for dat trades for these shows later this month.
Thanks.

Hi Jackson,
The comment made about the sound card previous was meant to tell you that
it's NOT so much the s/w that determines how the dat sounds once in your pc.
Most cheap, inexpensive or other wise consumer-oriented soundcard, ie.
SOUNDBLASTER etc re-sample the signal whether it needs it or not as it goes
thru the soundcard.
That's why you want a good soundcard and that's usually why they cost
allot-- they are NOT consumer but more PRO-sumer.
Yes! SoundForge is good, so is CoolEdit2K, CDWin and many others. S/w is
more preference as to what else you want in your s/w.
But, it's the card that really determines the wave file.
