wanted to thank everyone who came to my rescue with advice about mac software
for recording from digital & analog/editing/post-processing/burning etc. got
loads of recommendations. so far, i've downloaded a bunch of demo programs
that i'm working my way through. right now, i'd have to say bias peak & deck
look to be the best. prosonig's sonicworx is also another interesting piece
of software. both are a bit pricey. there are also few lower priced
alternatives. thanks again.

In the process of getting set to move, so trying to reduce my belongings.
I've got a pair of Shure SM84A mics and their Shure amplifier boxes I'd like
to find a home for. These are miniature hypercardioid mics, about an inch
by about one-third inch. They can be phantom powered at 48V or run with a
9V battery in each of the amplifier boxes. I think their response is 50-20k
with a presence rise in the upper frequencies, flat bass when run on phantom
and a 6db rolloff below 100hz when run through the amplifier boxes.
These are virtually brand new, I only used them in the house to check that
they worked fine. I got them for stealthing and before I got a chance to
use them, I found a wicker kangol-type hat that perfectly fit my km184s.
With the hat to use my neumanns for stealthing, I never found an opportunity
to use the Shures.
Looking for $100 for the pair of mics and the amplifiers, plus shipping.
Drop me a line if interested,
Todd

Hi folks,
Survey results are in on the "ethics question" I posed a couple days back
about it being ok or not to ask for 3 60 meter tapes in return for 2 90
meter tapes. For the most part folks seem to think a 1:1 trade is the way to
go regardless of the tape length, or an even dollar for dollar trade. There
were a couple exceptions. I thought the best way to show the results
without filling up the digest was to throw it on a web page so you can see
what folks wrote for themselves.

OVER can be defined several ways. Some decks define it as "3
consecutive maximum digital values", in which case a digital signal
can easily cause it.

Peter Rowan played many solo and small group concerts
this past summer. I'd be most interested in trading for
SBD or good AUD DAT recordings. I have an extensive
list of Peter Rowan and many other interesting artists.....
Thanks,
Tim.

I need to transfer some cassettes to DAT using a ZX-7 I bummed off my
brother. I know there are calibrations to be done for recording (azimuth
etc) but is there anything I need to calibrate or adjust for playback,
aside from tape type? I don't have a manual, obviously.

hey all, ive got an extra set of moe 11/3/01 cincinatti (4d) and panic
11/4/01 columbus (3d) for trade for b and p.
note: these are on memorex 74 min audio cdr's, and are only partially
tracked. i made these from my dat masters on my standalone and did not track
them as they transferred as i go from a d8 to a 555rw. this is fixed by
putting the shows on your hd and using cdwave to retrack the shows. i have
done this already and thought id offer the masters back to the list since
the list has gave me a whole lot over the past 2 yrs.
source is km 184 > dmic 20 > d8.
email privately if interested
only winners will be notified.
thanx alot!
