Hey there, Im selling a matched pair of Earthworks
SR-77 Cardiod Microphones. They are in MINT
CONDITION. They have been used 6 times total since I
purchased them brand new from Marc Nutter over at
SonicSense. Never used around smoke or rain. I
purchased them in the protective polymer tubing. In
addition I am including the windscreens and static
mounts at no additional charge. Serious offers only
please. Thank you. Peace.

When I found out Sony was leaving the DAT business, I panicked and bought an
M-1 as a backup to my D-8.
I'm wondering how experienced M-1 users deal with its battery situation.
Should I buy a backup set of rechargeables? Are they readily available from
Sony or do I need to get OEMs? Have you ever been burned by a bad recharge.
I much prefer the alkaline battery situation with the D-8. I can put a
fresh set of batteries in and be assured that they are good.
Thanks,
Charlie

This is probably stuff you've already gone through, but just in case...
check your autoexec.bat on the DOS boot disk you're using. It should
look something like:
SET ZA2=C:
C:\ZA2\UPBIT C:\ZA2\XZA2RDX3
C:\ZA2\UPSIM C:\ZA2\DSPOSX2
SET PATH=C:\ZA2;%PATH%
This assumes that the ZA2.INI file is in the C root directory (C:\) and
all the other ZA2 files installed with your initial setup are in the
C:\ZA2 directory. Obviously, the autoexec.bat would have to be modified
appropriately if the files were in different directories. There is a
detailed section in the manual on proper DOS set-up and troubleshooting.
I'd suggest you go over that again if you haven't already.
If you need another copy of the ZA2 manual, go to:
http://www.zefiro.com/za2manr8.zip
If you need a new copy of the installation files, go to:
http://www.zefiro.com/disk8.zip
Take care,
Darryl

Hiya,
Could anyone tell me what a set of second hand core sounds binaural mics
would be worth?
I know someone who is selling them, and I am interested in buying but I
wouldn't know what would be a reasonable price offer.
It is the mic set plus the battery box with the switchable bass roll-off
filter as on http://www.core-sound.com/mics.html
and the seller bought them slightly over a year ago.
Thanks in advance for your advice,

Hello all,
I recently purchased this and am quickly upgrading to a new preamp so this
unit needs to go.
This preamp comes with 24V external battery source that runs a long time
(batteries are also very small). Any other questions about this preamp give
a holler to kevin_hatton@hotmail.com
Please make me a serious offer. I don't remember offhand how much I paid
but I will find out and make sure that you get a good deal.

I use various brands of NiMH from Thomas Distributing. Once my wife had
the batteries in her purse and when it came time to swap she somehow
handed me one charged and one discharged. I should have noticed but was
moving too fast in dim lighting.
Another time, a few minutes into a show with freshly charged batteries,
one of them gave a pop and a sizzle and died-- some kind of internal
short, I suppose. I was mad, but probably should just be thankful my D100
wasn't fried.

My advice is to go to CNET's shopper.com and run a search for
Plextor. They will show results from several different vendors that you
can buy from. Bought my Plextor by researching this way and got a great
price from a good outfit.

A Long Shot Grovel: (IMHO) The greatest American rock and roll band of
my generation, The Dictators, are doing a tour of Spain. Bilbao was the
site of an FM broadcast in 1995. Could I be so lucky this year?
Date-------City--------Club
15-11-01 - Barcelona - Mephisto
16-11-01 - Tomelloso - Beat
17-11-01 - Jerez de la Frontera - Don Guido
21-11-01 - Gijon - Rocamar
22-11-01 - A Coruna - Playa Club
23-11-01 - Bilbao - Kafé Antzokia
24-11-01 - Madrid - El Sol
If any of these gigs show up on the FM dial, I would make it well worth
your while to tape it.
Thx, CE

I'm cleaning out the cupboard and have two audio items
which I no longer use:
o Core Sound binaural mics (standard battery box)
o Shure FP11 mono mic pre-amp (no phantom but up to +84 dB gain!)
Both of these use a standard 9V cell for power.
Both are in pretty good condition (not mint, but not
beaten up either!) and are available for sale separately.
Prices - make a reasonable offer!
Allow for insured airmail shipping from Australia
(where I am located).

Hi all...
I just found out that Sony has closed down its Bay
Area drop off service center. They now want everyone
to mail in the equipment. What does everyone think of
their service? Is there a better place to take/send a
portable dat deck? If so, please e-mail me off-list.
Also, since I'm writing, I'm looking to get a
multi-format dvd player and was hoping someone on this
list might have a recommendation...or at least be able
to point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Recently I've had reason to record phone conversations, or answering
machine messages, played over the phone line. Taping my stealth mics to
the receiver worked, but leaves A LOT to be desired. I have a little
monaural suction cup mic, but it's ineffective (maybe I'm using it
wrong). Radio shack makes a little 'wart' that has a miniplug audio output
and a submini plug on/off switcher, but I got this enormous hum. How are
people recording phone conversations? I know radio stations use a more
sophisticated processor, but is there anybody out there who has a schematic
for something I could build?
Hoping,
Jonathan
