I've made a VCD of the SCI on ACL from DirecTV with a TiVo and
the DataVideo 3000.
If this makes any sense to you, feel free to write me for a copy with
the subject "SCI ACL VCD".
(Sorry, the Phish ACL VCD from last year never happened. I never
got a "clean" copy. Still working on it.)

When I found out Sony was leaving the DAT business, I panicked and bought an
M-1 as a backup to my D-8.
I'm wondering how experienced M-1 users deal with its battery situation.
Should I buy a backup set of rechargeables? Are they readily available from
Sony or do I need to get OEMs? Have you ever been burned by a bad recharge.
I much prefer the alkaline battery situation with the D-8. I can put a
fresh set of batteries in and be assured that they are good.
Thanks,
Charlie

Can anyone give me recent taping info regarding the
Phil & friends tour. Are taping tix required? Or is
there a first come taping section section? I'm going
to the Oakdale show - does anyone have info about that
venue?
Thanks in advance,

trade a DAT>cdr copy of it. I have a couple other 2001 Derek Trucks shows to
trade and many other shows from various bands.

I'm looking for any 2001 (or recent years) Nazareth shows on cdr from DAT.
Also looking for 70's BBC/FM broadcasts on cdr from excellent sounding
sources. I have a couple old BBC/FM's on analog tape, but looking to upgrade
them to disc with close to pristine sound quality, or the best sources
possible. I have a variety of bands to trade.
Thanks,

If you aren't intimidated by a soldering iron, I just posted a circuit
that allows phone recording:

Most or all of the parts can be scrounged from an old modem.

How many times does it need to be said? Robert Fripp, and hence King
Crimson, is very anti-taping. Stealth at your own risk.

Probably as many times as there are new subscribers who don't know
about the search engine for the list archives, because it's not
made known to them by the info sent to them upon subscribing. And
who are not Internet-savvy enough to know how to STFW for such a
list archive. Even a simple Google search for "King Crimson taping
policy" turns up several dat-heads posts. But if somebody
would update the FAQ and the ezmlm info messages it might cut
down on the noise.
(Although "Otto"'s earlier fumble to the list makes it look like
he's already getting the list via some other address.)

'heads,
I'm not affiliated with, nor have I actually ever purchased anything from
Full Compass but wanted to pass this along.
Nuemann KM-184s for $449.52 each! If I weren't too stuck on my MBHOs, I'd
jump on it myself. Anyway, theres some other B-stock stuff (Lucid AD2496)
they're advertising.

Also, I've got two Steve Kimock Band 5/26/01 DATs that were cloned directly
from the master DAT that I have left from some trades that fell through.
