From: GaoBest@aol.com Subject: recorded official DATs anywhere? Date: Sun, 18 Nov 2001 03:14:58 EST Does anyone remember when certain music companies were selling albums on pre-recorded DAT format? Although the only one I can remember is New Order "Technique" being released on DAT by Factory Records. Are there others? Anyway does anyone here want to sell me a "Technique" official dat, I wonder what the packaging is like. x mike

From: "Dan Marsh" <DAN_MARSH@telocity.com> <okay, i',m about to start selling 240 dats in groups of 40. < <they are all the dats i have collected through the years. < <cost $200 per 40 plus $10 shipping and I include the datrax.
From: "Dan Greenberg" <letitgro@warwick.net> Subject: extra Clapton 6/22/01 on DAT for B+P Date: Sun, 18 Nov 2001 05:31:07 -0500 This is for the Eric Clapton show at Madison Square Garden in NYC on 6/22/01. (It was the middle of 3 shows at the Garden which ended the 1st leg of his North American "Reptile" tour.) It was recorded w/ Sonic Studios DSM6 mics almost to the back of the floor (but up on the side) and is on one Sony 90m DAT. In return, I'd like a sealed Sony or Maxell 90m DAT plus postage. First to respond after the Digest hits my mailbox gets it (unless you're willing to do B+P's for others, which I would give preference to...in which case tell me how many you're willing to make). -Dan-

From: "Jonathan Edwards" <scifoc@bellsouth.net> Subject: need some help deciding on deck d8/m1/d100? Date: Sun, 18 Nov 2001 22:16:47 -0500 hey now, okay, i need some help. i was all set to buy a da-p1 but certain financial realities have made me see that i can't afford that much at this time. i really like the sony m1, but the patching problems are scaring me away from that. for now i'm mostly going to be patching with it looking unlikely that i'll be buying mics and all that in the next year or two. i don't want to be regulated to the end of patch chains. i had settled on the d8 but then saw the sony d100 on the webpage i was getting ready to buy the d8 from. i understand that it is pratcially the same as the m1 except for it has scms. does it have the same patching problems? how does it compare to the d8? if anyone can give me some input, i'd greatly appreciate it. thanks! jonathan
