Subject: Anyone Have the EMU "Optimum Sample-Rate Converter" utility?
Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2001 23:09:30 -0500
Hey Gang,
EMU used to have a free software sample-rate converter available for
download on their website at:
http://www.emu.com/products/aps/downloads.html, but it's not there any more.
It's used to convert from 48 down to 44.1 before buring a .wav to CD.
It's suggested to be used with the SB Live! card when transferring material
in at 48, and there's a write-up about it at:
http://www.emu.com/products/aps/apstut4.html. Does anyone happen to have
this utility? I downloaded it once, but had to wipe my HD and now need to
re-install it. I believe it's just one .exe file, very simple. If you've
got it installed, I sure could use it!
Thanks,
Ryan

I have the Terratec AudioSystem EWX 24/96 and it works perfectly with
Windows 9x and Windows 2000/XP. It's a really nice 24bit/96kHz card with
analog RCA (!) i/o, optical TOS-Link i/o and great software. I am really
happy with it. You can find more information on Terratec's web site:

1. Soundcards- I highly highly reccomend anything by Midiman-- especially
the Delta Dio 2448 Professional. it has so much potential in the card. I
own the Audiophile 2496. Both are beautiful cards, and i know the Dio is
supported under Me and 2000.
2. Transfers- I'd love to do some more transfering. I am just getting
into transferring and I love it. I have a tascam DA-P1 that I connect via
Monster COAX cable to my Audiophile card. So if anyone needs transfer
help I would love to.
Hugs and nugs,
Jonny

Hiya,
Can anyone recommend online stores, preferably based in Europe, that sell
Maxell/Fuji (or other brands you'd recommend) DAT tapes cheap? I tried some
online searches but didn't get much luck. I'd especially be interested in
90m tapes.
Thanks in advance and best regards

Looking for any public domain recordings of Bix Beiderbecke for my
collection; for my own listening pleasure, not for reproduction and
sale. Any format (except wire). Will make Beiderbecke CD in Jewel box
with graphics and/or DAT for you in trade. Have some Dylan on DAT too.

Does anyone know if the new 24Bit 96Khz (alleged 100dB
S/N ration) SoundBlaster Audigy Soundcards force
resampling, as did the SB Live! Cards?
Has anyone used one for a DAT->HD transfer?
How did it work? How does it sound?
Is it all hype or is it the article?
Are their any technical reviews or tests to
be found?
Bottomline is, Can this thing make it as the
core of a DAW ? Does it even come close?
My only reason for considering it over an
RME or Ego Sys is the track record of great
driver support and universality.
Or am I comparing Yugos to Bimmers?
Thanks!
-Bob
