Anyone that can help me in finding live Who on CD please contact me. Either
from their most recent tour or otherwise. Anything will do really. I have
lots to trade on either DAT or CD. However, I don't have any Who to offer
in return. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for the last disc of ABB 8/27/91, Merriweather Post. I got a
great DAUD recently, but it cuts on "Revival" and is missing both
encores, otherwise I've got the rest of it already and am just looking to
complete. Many to trade in exchange.
Thanks,
Kevin

If you want to "roll your own" power box, go to Shure Microphones web site
(www.shure.com) and look in their technical help section. They have a
circuit I used with my SM-81's that used two 9 volt transistor radio
batteries and runs the mikes for about 200 hours. (The SM-81's require from
12 volts to 48 volts) You can use the circuit with more batteries to get the
voltage up, but be sure to increase the voltage rating of the capacitors to
withstand the higher voltage. They have simple circuits to convert the
balanced line (usual phantom power mike arrangement) to unbalanced mike
output such as needed for Sony D8's, or to output the signal in a balanced
format. All the parts to build the circuit should cost less than $20.
Since there is no voltage step up circuit, there is no possibility of any
electronic circuit noise from such a source. The circuit has no
amplification, etc, it only provides a way to power the mikes and provide a
microphone level signal to your input. If you build the circuit the only
tip I can give you is to match the resistor values for each microphone as
close as possible. Svetlik@Stratos.net

hi!
i've set up a mailing list for european tapers mainly at
yahoogroups.com. if you want to join this group please send a mail to
the following adress:
dmsounds-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
this mailinglist is as i said for tapers. it should be a plattform for
european bootleggers to comunicate and talk about mics, dats, mds,
tapersections, venue infos and whatsoever!. we've also set up an
european database for tapers which includes all the important info you
need of several popular venues in europe!.
please keep in mind that this is a taper-list not a trader-list. there
are a lot of those and i do not want to see our list going into that
direction!.
right now we are 48 tapers and still counting :).

I've always been a tinkerer and not much in the way of complex
mechanical gear scares me. I've been able to resurrect several old DAT
machines that the original owners wrote off as junk. In most cases,
a good wet-cleaning and sometimes a slight alignment adjustment were
all that was needed.
Regarding the alignment issues, I'm curious as to what the canonical
method is for proper tape path adjustment. Specifically, A) is there
some sort of "standard" tape used for in-play alignment--I use a tape
recorded on a different deck, and it may not necessarily be perfectly
aligned--and B) should any other "alignment roller" (for lack of the
proper name of the adjustable plastic spools) besides the one that is
obviously intended for in-play adjustment (there is usually some sort
of hole in the mechanism that allows this one to be adjusted when the
tape is playing) be messed with? I usually run the spool up and down
until digi-noise is heard at each extreme, and split the difference.
Any comments appreciated.
P.S. I've never sold a deck I've tinkered with in this way and would
not misrepresent one should I ever decide to.

Hey y'all. Wanted to see if one of you kind folks could help me out. I was
able to find a really nice sounding Schoeps source of this show on CD a few

I'm thinking about sending my Sony D-8 in for repairs to one of the Sony repair centers. I am still within my 5 year war=

Two people have back out.. so this is all still for sale:
Tascam DA-P1
Purchased new from Sonic Sense for $1,325 on 11/3/98
(Has been used mostly as a playback deck for cloning and to master about 30
or so shows. Haven't done much cloning in the last year or so, so the
hours on the heads are pretty low. The deck hasn't gotten much use at all
over the last year.. that's why it's being sold. Has only been serviced
for head cleaning and alignment by Pro-Digital.)
Eco-Charge Beta Battery System
Purchased new from Sonic Sense for $250 on 7/27/98
This is the two battery system with charger. Each battery runs the DA-P1
for around 5 hours.
Portabrace AR-DA-P1
Purchased new from Eco-Charge for $190 in 1998
I have the receipts and manuals for everything except the
Portabrace. Everything is in mint condition and I have never had a problem
with any of this equipment. All offers will be considered, but I am not in
any rush to get rid of this stuff for less than it is worth. I'd also be
willing to do some sort of a trade+cash to downgrade to a Sony D8 if anyone
is looking to upgrade from the D8 to the DA-P1.
I have Jpeg pictures of the package/deck if you would like to see them.

Mike,
Sorry to disturb you w/ my offer...yea I use some "drastic moves" to
collect some times, but this show is available out there, and people that
have donated a lot of money.. know that...and still donate! This offer is
not about the money or even selling the music for a profit...I guess this
was a way that I thought of raising money for charity and spreading the
music...making a difference on both sides! These people know what they are
doing, and half of them don't get the music that easy...have you ever been
in the position of having no collection, no means of cloning, and waited
patiently to be accepted for a B&P offer %^)
Well.... with this you get your B&P....instantly, without a wait!
As for the "only $10" I wrote that after getting over 100 Emails as to what
is an acceptable donation (and answering all of them) I wasn't complaining,
I was just writing to answer all future Emails that wanted to know what an
acceptable donation would be, and that $10 per set is what came out of
averaging all the other offers that people were making that day, I was just
trying to give people an Idea as to what others were sending in with out
placing a "cost" on the music.
There is no cost...it is all from the heart that people give, and the pocket
book of course!
I had people saying that they would gladly pay $10 for the whole run, I
guess they not knowing how big this offer was....13 or so Disc's. When I
responded to these $10 offers, these people immediately raised there offer!
So I guess with the post I made w/ the dollar amounts, was to spire some
people the embarrassment of feeling cheap. But there is no Cheap to it $5 or
$200 it is all from the heart! IMO
In fact, Most should be pleased that I had decided to do this other wise,
these tapes wouldn't make it out there as fast!
Meaning... that as I type this I'm still burning over 100 B&P's of the
Warren Haynes Xmas Jam, That I seeded all over these same lists!
In fact this way more people will have this show, once it get into the hand
of the folks that have donated, they are (if capable) more than encouraged
to clone these Fob's to others!
Hoping they wait till I can collect as much as I'm able to, but in Feb,
those that can't afford to at this time will have it! I promise that! And
Savannah will maybe have a another month in College paid for!
Trust me......... I have better things to do with my time right now, I am so
behind in work and bills, that my wife (God Bless Her) should divorce me!
Well...I hope I didn't put my foot in my mouth again, w/ this post...but a
guys got to do what the spirit tells him to do! Can you imagine the trades
that I could have gotten with these tape %^}
WOB Tax- SHN's of the XMAS JAM- one more to each of the lists, that can
spread it around a couple more times!
Thanks for hearing me out!
PS. I don't need to meet Warren... we have met, several times...I even
spent hours w/ him, after the Xmas Jam at the private party for the artists
he had after the Xmas Jam, ah...the memories %^}
