Sony D8 Very Low Hourz ( < 20) never used in concert recording environment, always @ home, used for general purpose "listening"... Comes with optical cable, case, AC adapter, SONY DTC700 This was one of my old decks, he bought, then never used! this was maintained very well by me (and thus by him)... sent to oades once for cleaning, it does not have any of the usual transport problems... If you buy both, he'll throw in his DAT collection (~30) that he never listened to...$650 plus shipping gets both, make me an offer individually on these... it won't last long...these are good buys/decks! t ------------------------------ From: "DCin10AC" Subject: Re: ISO: Stand, Bogen/Manfratto? When you get "stuck" with really close seats, you need to get out of the boomy bass zone, especially with Neumanns! I still managed to get a bit of ambient crowd on it somehow though (those upfront ABB fans are *LOUD* !) Also ran a couple of Merlefest sets that high in the past few years. The "tapers section" relays were at the top of the sound tower, so in order to capture them without capturing the extremely noisy and talkative sound crew...maybe that's why we bagged the section and went up front the rest of the time (sorry Bill!) My stand is a 17' Bogen/Manfrotto with the adapter. Probably the same one mentioned in the post. Got it from B&H Photo/Video in NYC for under a hundred. But, I got it serviced a year ago. Just for a tune-up. There was nothing wrong with it. Sorry but there is no paper work (excpet the owner's manual). It works well and strong. No physical scars on it. I've actually babied it VERY well. I've had no problems with this machine. Sony is selling it for $1,000 brand new, but I'm looking for 550.00 or best offer. If you want to work-out a deal, I plan to get an EcoCharge Beta two system at http://www.ecocharge.com/bplus.htm for my DA-P1(the single battery pack)for $220.00 and the Stand rig package at http://www.micsupply.com/package2.htm for 185.00. So, 220.00+185.00= 405.00. If you are willing to buy the battery pack, the stand rig, and ship it to me with insurance, I'll ship my deck to you(I'll pay for the packing, shipping, and insurance). Or if you want to make me a deal some how, let me know. For example, you have these items and they are used or even brand spanking new, let's talk about making a trade. Also, if you live anywhewe (well within relative reasonableness) in the So. California area, I'll even drive to you if you are close enough; so that, we can save on the shipping and handeling. (do I sound desperate? I'm not. I just want to work out a good fair trade with someone. I'm in no big rush. I've truely cared for this deck and just want to make sure that it makes it somewhere good and that the trade or expenses are just about as equal as things can get) This is the link if you want to see specs on the Deck: http://www.sel.sony.com/SEL/consumer/ss5/generic/homeaudio/minidiscdigitalrecorders/index.shtml If this link doesn't work, go to the Sony site at: http://www.sony.com and type in DTC-ZE700 in the search box Anyways, let me know either threw this list or privately. It would be greater still if people showed respect for other opinions, like they expect to receive from others. Briefly consider the artist's point of view. If he is a self-employed businessman like any group leader has to be, writing and arranging, endless practicing; well, let's face it - he (or she) has to be something of a control freak. You don't make it to the big time if you don't care about details. I hope I didn't hurt anybody's feelings. I have had the privilege of archiving a local artist who has achieved some success, and I have a lot of competition at shows. Microphones and mini-discs everywhere. From my point of view, the more the merrier. From his point of view, he doesn't mind if someone tapes the show as long as they ask permission ahead of time. This happens very rarely. If they do ask, he tells them he would like to get a copy. This NEVER happens. How hard is it for him to get on his computer and do a search on his own name, and come up with page after page of lists of people trading his music? Not too hard. Shows from all over the world that he doesn't have, and has no quality control over. His choice is to either let it go, or to be a dick about it. If we are advocating a better system than the one the record companies have come up with, it would seem to me like we have some obligations to the artists. The bottom line is respect. I have gotten some concerned emails since I posted about the pricing wars that many of the dealers on this list get involved in, and I want to defend my point. NPR did a report on the demise of K-Mart last night and again this morning they discussed a "free-for-all" scene at a Queens, NY K-Mart - where customers were freaking out beacuse there was NO ONE available to help them check out and NO customer service. People reportedly threw down their items on the counters and left all pissed-off...mayhem. THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO US IF THESE PRICE WARS CONTINUE. In the short term, we all love to save money - me included, but at what cost in the long term? Are you ready to have all of the small cool dealers go under - forcing us to buy our tapes and gear from an online division of Wall-Mart? Great - you saved some cash and got a free carrying case - WOW! Now try to get someone on the phone to answer your questions. Good luck...and say hi to the flying yellow smiley face as he floats through the tapers section, slashing prices. While I think that DAT-heads should be uncensored and open. I do, however, feel that it should also be a discussion, not just a soapbox. This means listening to everyone and then stating your opinion. Irregardless of style, you should never say "I am tired of listening to other people... but ...now listen to me." You may have a good point, but its no longer part of the conversation. Thanks, Sean ------------------------------ From: "Michael guess" Subject: FS:PCM M1, Pair Shure Beta 98s, Pair Shure MX185s Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2002 13:34:18 -0700 Greetings all. Once again im auctioning off some superfluus equipment thru the graciousness of the Ebay marketplace. Those would be the following items. One Sony PCM M1 pro Dat Recorder. Purchased new approximately 2 years ago, has seen much stealth field use in that time and has performed and continues to perform beautifully. Unit was checked out by Full Compass in Middleton WI approx 6 months ago and came thru a-ok. This auction includes an active/passive 7pin to coax in and out digital patch cable with canon adapter. This is basically like the Oade patch cable except better. aMore flexible cable and less susceptable to the common wear of connection youll find using the Oade bro 7pin patch cable. New this is a $850 value. My reserve for the lot is $500. Please visit ebay via th efollowing link for all the info http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1505972950 American digital 7-pin to coax in/out patch cable. also auctioning a pair of Shure Beta 98 mics. For those of you whove heard my U2 recordings made with these mics you know they offer steller audio performance that stands strong alongside the highest end mics out there(neumann, schoeps, B&K). This auction includes two shure beta 98s, two custom shortened cables(30ft shortened to 4ft for stealthing by the pro-tecs at Full Compass systems) all original accessories, stand mounts, etc. Auction also included non standard rpm 108 cardioid capsules in addition to the standard Supercard caps that come with the mics. Youll find these offer a much better warmer and more open sonic result than the standard supercards. New these are a $550 value. My reserve fo rhte lot is $350. Please visit the following link to ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1505975973 Finally auctioning a pair of Shure MX185 lavalier mics. these, like the beta 98s are a nice mic for stealthing, and a step up from the typical Core sound or Sonic studio options. Advice to buyers, these are susceptable to overloads if they are not being routed thru a pre. Simply running them via a phantom power source will not suffice and you will not be happy with the results. These are also ideal mics for broadcastinbg, home or studio video production, etc. Ive used these mics twice in the field and was happy with the results, though they did not provide the samne results as the Betas, hence theyve languished out of favour. Once again, these items have been carewd for and include all original accessories, manuals, capsules, etc. Please visit the following link to Ebay for biddin ginfo. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1505979046 Reason for selling. Giving up the world of stealth for pro-audio and in the future will be routing all recoding st into a laptop computer setup. As always, thanx for hte space.
