Fantastic sounding preamp for stealthing or everyday recording. Comes with
case, directions, mint condition. Accepts xlr mic inputs, outputs xlr or
stereo mini. Runs on 2-9v batteries - no external batteries required!
Make an offer I can't refuse.

I still have my dat after my buyer backed out. Looking to make a
quick sale on my d8. It has around 200-250 hours on it. I have never
had a problem with it and my tapes are always free of digi-noise.
Priced for a quick sell at $275.00 shipped to your house in the
lower 48! Reason for selling = bought new deck.

What I'm waiting to see is a unit with several minutes of buffer time to
let you make the switch without losing anything. It shouldn't be that
hard to engineer now that there's technology like Burn Proof that can
start and stop the laser and vary the burn rate. When you put in a new
blank it could burn at 2X until the buffer is empty and then continue with
the live stream at 1X.

me a line if you have any...(And I know THIS is a stab in a dark tunnel with
an oncoming train) - But does anyone, by chance, happen to have any Shannon
McNally recordings ?????

hi!
i've set up a mailing list for european tapers mainly at
yahoogroups.com. if you want to join this group please send a mail to
the following adress:
dmsounds-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
this mailinglist is as i said for tapers. it should be a plattform for
european tapers to comunicate and talk about mics, dats, mds,
tapersections, venue infos and whatsoever!. we've also set up an
european database for tapers which includes all the important info you
need of several popular venues in europe!.
we're also trying to install a weekly "dead-center-online-radio-hour"
in which we'll broadcast some live tracks taken from our list members!.
please keep in mind that this is a taper-list not a trader-list. there
are a lot of those and i do not want to see our list going into that
direction!.
right now we are 75 tapers and still counting :).

I'm curious as to the amount of time it will take the Marantz or
Superscope to finalize a disc. I doubt many folks are going to want to
wait 2-3 minutes to eject while live recording.

I'll help transfer it to CDR if you wish. Let me know if you can make it

Can someone please help me.
I cannot get Peak LE 2.53 to record the signal from my Edirol UA-30. The
record levels show that the signal is coming into the iMac SE DV, but when I
go to Record in Peak I get a message that "Peak does not support 8-bit
recording in the Sound Manager and that I should change the settings and try
again'. Change them to what? How?
Please help. The setup is Sony D8 to UA-30 via Len moskowitz's
7-pin-to-coax; USB into the iMac.

Subject: M1 peak hold
Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2002 01:00:42 -0500
I got a couple questions about activating this function. I remember using
it a while ago but I have since forgotten how. Anyway just found what I had
saved from DATheads a while ago.
You can enter a setting dialogue on the M1 if you press clock/set button
for more than 2 s. You can now enter four modes:
- clock and date setting as on the D100
- ID6 where you set SCMS at 00, 01 or 11, 00 is default, yes you can
choose!!
- sensitivity of auto start ID at -50 (default), -40, -30, -20, -10 dB
- if you want start IDs at the beginning of each recording
- if you want the level bar to show peaks or not (there is no real
margin display)
Hope this helps.

Paul

Subject: Tapes For Sale Debate
Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2002 01:32:32 -0500 (EST)
There have been many good, and well expressed points made on this issue
by our subscribers, however, the "heart of the matter" seems to be that
since the digest may be monitored by record company people, we may be
jeopardizing a very good thing (the free exchange of fabulous music).
Someone who may be rubbed the wrong way by the mention of money changing
hands could pull the plug, almost literally: Bands who permit taping,
and, ultimately, soundboard access could say the party's over. It seems
fair to me that someone who has gone through the effort of filling a
tape with music, either by recording a show himself, or using his time,
effort and equipment to properly transfer pre-existing music to new
tapes for trading, is entitled to request a new tape in return. I
believe Sean made a statement which we should all keep in mind since
it's an intelligent one: "The active and interested poster should also
be an active and interested reader," I believe adhering to that idea
will benefit us all.

We just bought an iPod from Apple... this firewire harddrive thing is just
awesome. Five gigs in my shirt pocket and it only takes 60 seconds to move
a 1-gig file. Geez.
And you're right, all they need to do is upgrade the firmware for the thing
to record an incoming signal from the MiniMe.
Can you imagine? Having, say, a 30GB drive that's the size of a pack of
cigarettes?
Before you left the show you could snag six different copies of the show
from other tapers!
Better yet, no more patching off of people! You all just get together for
an impromptu tape tree after the show. It would take ten minutes, the taper
seeds four people and leaves, they each feed a couple and leave...
Dream and drool...
-Jackson
PS - until then... starting this spring I'll be taping with an iBook... So
should you find yourself attending a concert that I'm taping you won't be
getting a patch out of my MiniME, but if you bring your iPod along I'll be
happy to drag the show onto it for you!

Hi - I just purchased a pair of MBHO 603a mics with the Hyper caps. I Need
some advice on how to get power to them and into my PCM-M1. Any suggestions
appreciated. I am hoping to find something that can be stealthed. Along
with that, I am probably going to want to get active cables to run from the
mic to the caps. Any suggestions where to buy them, and a general idea on
the cost would also be much appreciated.
Besides that, I am a blank slate waiting to be written on, and would like
to hear about anything else I should be concerned about, or know about,
these mics.
Thanks!
