I've finally gotten around to burning to CDR the Yes-Hollywood Bowl DAT
I taped way back on 7-30-01 which also fatured th Hollywood Bowl
Orchestra for part of the show. It came out very nice. I'm looking for
CDR trades for other nice sounding, complete, verifiable lineage DAT
recordings from that tour. If any of you have such a recording to trade,
please contact me. If you only can send DAT, that's OK. I use only
Mitsui CDRs/Plextor burner. BTW, I get from DAT to computer using a
Zefiro Acoustics ZA2, downsample from 48kHz to 44.1 with Cool Edit Pro,
and do the chopping and fades ins-outs (beginning and end of CDs) with
Sound Forge. I can e-mail MP3'd snippets for those who would like a
sample before trading.
Take care,
Darryl

I have an Edirol UA-3 I'd like to sell. I used it to transfer my DATs to my
computer. It only has the optical type of digital inputs though. I used a C02
to convert the coax signal to optical to get this to work. I'd also like to
sell that along with the Edirol. I have everything that came with the Edirol,
including the box. But only the power supply to go with the C02. Make me an
offer.
Thanks
Bob

Anyone have any experience w/either of these two mics?
Anyone have any recordings mastered w/either?
I would love to hear/discuss. Considering saving my pennies and selling
off some of my other gear to get one or the other.

Sorry for the crosspost.... (BW tax below)
I wanted to give the folks here a chance to get it before I post this
on ebay next week.
The ZA2 card alone is worth at least $250, so I'm going to set the
reserve on ebay at $420.
If someone cares to offer more than that before it goes up for
auction, I would be happy to go that route as it saves me the trouble.
Buyer pays actual shipping charges, no handling!
It's a terrific "starter" system for someone looking to transfer their
DATS and Minidiscs to CDR, so jump on it quick.
Thanks, PHil

Panasonic CW7502 4x CDR (SCSI w/ Card)
Mitsumi CDROM (EIDE)
Floppy Drive
LAN 10/100 Card
ATI Video Card
2 EIDE ports
2 USB ports / 1 VGA Port / 4 PCI slots / 2 ISA slots (one used for
Za2)
Zefiro Za2 16bit (with 24bit upgrade installed) Digital Soundcard
with real time resampling (on the fly) or unsampled data transfers.
Digital AES/EBU I/O SPDIF Coax/Optical I/O
Analog out, MIDI, etc.. Terrific Digital Soundcard.
http://zefiro.com/
Pre-Installed software includes:
Windows 2000 Professional
Soundforge 5.0, Cool Edit Pro 1.2, Feurio, Nero, MKW SHN, CD Wave
WSFTP, Photoshop 6.0, IE5.0, WinAmp, etc...Tons of other goodies.
It was my personal computer, so it's as is.
I left all the software on it. All drivers, software, etc... for
installed components plus all manuals, floppies, discs, boxes, etc..
that I have from the original packing/installation.
This entire digital recording setup is ready to go. You could upgrade
some of the components very easily and cheaply if you wish, such as
memory, CPU, Hard drives, CDROM, etc... The motherboard I wouldn't
reccomend switching because the Za2 can be a little fickle about
certain boards and this one works like a champ with this card. No
conflicts or anything of the sort. I have been using it for very
reliable & bit accurate data and audio transfers for
over 2 years without any problems. There are plenty of my recordings
and transfers floating around the trading circles as adequate proof of
that. http://www.bluegrassbox.com
I would advise an upgrade of the CDR writer, as it has had major use
and can not be trusted for accurate burns anymore. It still works
great about 90% of the time though, so it is suitable for extraction
and basic things. Same goes for the CDROM, they are super cheap to
find these days, so a quick upgrade of those type of components is a
breeze, even for the uninitiated. As a whole, the system's design is
solid, reliable, and consistent. I built it that way from the start
and have maintained it that way since. It's no super-computer now, but
it was top of the line (cost $2,000) at the time it was built in May
of 99. The installed software and configurations alone makes it worth
the price.
Like I said, it's ready to go for audio transfers, digital editing,
CDR burning, and all your other basic computer needs.
You could even take it to a show a record the concert with it, if you
were so daring. LOL
I'll entertain offers above $420 for a few days.

Does anyone have a copy of Trey Anastasio at Jones Beach 8/3/01?? Eric
McRoberts' fob Schoeps mk4>kc-5>cmc6>Lunatec 316>DA-P preferred
During the show, the batteries in the mod sbm1 I was using were dying so i
made a quick switch between songs. No music missed, but it sounds a little
unnatural and I think I remember Trey thanking the crowd or something.
Anyway, I'd like to splice in those 10-20 seconds or so I lost if possible.
Otherwise, I'll dupe some crowd noise and make a note of it, but I'd prefer
the former method.
Finally getting around to converting this beast so if anyone has Eric's
source in shn that I can download or if you run off that quick segment for
me, please get in touch.
thanks!
chris
