According to the Nero manual (yeah, I know about the 5.5 bug...), you need to have an HFS-formatted partition available to start with. Which of course, I don't have on my Win2K machine. So either... (1) I need a way to create such a partition on my PC (2) I need an alternate method of creating a hybrid disc (3) I need to forget about this altogether... As an aside, the PC-data portion of the discs I've written are perfectly readable on the Mac systems I've experimented with, but because the Mac only sees the ISO filenames (uppercase, 8+3) instead of the Joliet filenames (mixed case, up to 255 chars), any html files put in the data section are more or less useless (as all the links get messed up, since they're case-sensitive). ideas? thanks! -rand0m ------------------------------ From: Jon Weber Subject: CO / UT tapers needed ! Will Bernard & Motherbug tour Date: Sat, 02 Mar 2002 10:44:14 -0800 (PST) I'm looking to connect with any tapers in Colorado or Utah that are interested in taping Will Bernard & Motherbug on their upcoming tour. This is their first trip to the mountain states and as Will's archivist, I would be psyched to get it taped (and I can't afford to go... saving for Jazzfest). This is one of the most unique and flavorful jazzfunk bands going right now... you won't regret the effort. They are totally cool with onstage mic placement as well as video, assuming the venue is cool with it. They are playing one show as support for Maceo Parker, who is known for being very anti-taping. For this show I'm hoping to find someone who has experience patching at Fox shows and has a relationship with the house sound engineer. I will be contacting him in advance and giving him your info so you can coordinate patching from the board ONLY for the Motherbug set. For most shows, I should be able to get you on the list +1 if you have a full rig with mics, and can promise to send a copy to the archives. Here are the dates -- see offer below that. If any of you get out and tape her I would be very interested. Here is her answer to me when I wrote and asked why I was not allowed to tape her, Greg Brown and Cry, Cry , Cry a while back as all were, and to my knowledge still are, taper friendly. Hi there and thanks for your email. It's always okay with me for people to tape at my shows, but it's a totally different thing if it's a group show, and I guess those venues didn't allow it or something. I don't really have any say about that with those group shows. Sorry about the misunderstanding! All the best, Lucy So there it is straight from Lucy. if you have any problems I suggest you ask to see her or get a note to her. She is a very sweet lady.... Thanks.... Peace, Michael ------------------------------ From: "Chris And Berryman" Subject: Bad trader.... Reply-To: Date: Sat, 2 Mar 2002 16:12:00 -0500 I'm with you on this one. Do you know how many "bin ladens" or other "bad people" there are in the world that share names with common everyday people? You don't see the FBI putting disclaimers on their websites stating: Mr. Bin ladens of the world we are sorry and since you share the name with Osama we'll take him of the most wanted list to avoid causing you any harm. And hell, imagine if it was "defimation" the TV show "Americas Most Wanted" would be up shit creek LOL. I don't think you have anything to worry about, you have clearly identified M.K. as a tape trader and being as the other M.K. (if he exists) is not a tape trader he doesn't fit the description, so just like all the Osama Bin Ladens in the world that are 4 feet tall and have blonde hair...the statement is not applicable to them. Peace, Chris ------------------------------ From: "EZ Rider" Subject: RE: bad trader very wierd situation - looking for advice Date: Sat, 2 Mar 2002 19:22:07 -0500 Hi Jon I didn't get a bad hit off him like you did. His letter seemed sincere to me. You have every right to respond how ever you like. However, the fact that you presented this to the list group indicates that you are ethical and care about right and wrong. Lots of people don't care about that, you know, and would just blow this guy off. I respect the fact that you want to do the right thing. Being right doesn't always make you kind. For myself, I'd rather be kind whenever my ego permits me to. Not neseserally editing but more simple transfer with the option to edit. I have a mac g4 400. I have the sound card that comes with the audiowerks production kit from emagic. Basically what I want to do is transfer my MD recording to HD, add track makrs, remove some clipping, raise the db level, maybe add some bass ect... What I need is something easy to use, which is suited to 2 track editing as oposed to multitrack editing. Any help on the matter wwould be great. Also I have noticed of late that some of my live recording have a 1 channel bias. I believe this is due to the fact that one of my misc possibly got knocked. Is this possible ? What else could it be and is there a way to fix it. arrhh yarh, my equipment MZR 50 > CSB wbr . Also, I looking at getting a DAT recorder as my finaces ptobably can handle that now, what could someone recomend as far a compact with good battey life goes. thanks heaps everyone Jamie ------------------------------ From: "Dan Witt" Subject: Alejondra Escovedo 02-28-2002 Date: Sat, 2 Mar 2002 22:51:44 -0600 Taped him at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. Four piece band, synth/guitar, percussion, electric chello/bass. He did 13 songs, and told many long stories, filled with funny bits of history. Two of the songs he walked in to the audience and performed, my mic stand was close enough and I was able to capture them as well. The show is two cdrs, if interested get ahold of me, I'll do at least 2 trades. ------------------------------ ** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) send the message to dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net and the old address will be removed.
