Hi, I've got a few disks that need to find a good home. All are unclaimed,
extra disks with no flaws, etc. That said, some of these are audio disks
and some are data disks containing .shn files. I assume that you, the
recipient understand what is to be done with such a data disk and won't be
disappointed when they put such a disk in their portable CD players at the
beach... It's an eclectic mix, hopefully something for everyone in the
family...
First person to send me 6 blank data CDrs, 16x certified please, & return
postage gets 'em. The disks you'll be getting are a mixed bunch, but I'd
certainly prefer name brands (maxell, TDK, etc.) if you've got them to give.
I will not break up the bunch, and you must send the blanks and return
postage within a day to qualify. No exceptions, sorry, nor am i interested
in trading for these bands. Hopefully there's a newbie or music lover with
diverse taste who will get plenty of mileage out of these!
Here's what's in the bunch:

I am looking to replace a ruined disc, the title says 9/16/70 London
England, but I am unsure if this is the correct info. It starts with a
track I can't identify, then: Green is the Colour > CWTAE and Let There
Be More Light. There are several other tracks I can't identify names of,
then One of These Days and Echoes.
I think this is a fairly highly circulated, HQ Floyd disc - anyone got
it? Have many to trade - email me off-list and I'll send you my trading
list.
Thanks,
Kevin

I am interested in selling my Technics SV-MD1 portable DAT deck. I have only
used it as my 'play' deck for cloning purposes since I bought it from one of
my friends several years ago. Although it is portable, bigger than a D8,
smaller than a DA-P1, it does not have a digital input - only digital
output. Therefore, it makes an excellent 2nd (or 3rd) deck for use in
cloning DATs. The unit comes with the AC power supply and buyer pays
shipping.
Reason for selling, I just bought a digi-soundcard and will be cloning less
and transferring more.
Looking to get $250 obo. Email me privately for more info.

For low cost, you can add a Midiman CO2 and you'll have optical I/O in
addition to coax. Please see our Web site for details.

Everything Sean said is right on the mark. I actually had $100 in mind when I
decided to post my FS message. In my post, I originally had some words about
not wanting to gouge a fellow taper, but decided to edit it to keep it brief.

True, true. The one difference is that the Oade cable has the analog/digital
switch, which you need if you want to record from analog in and pass the
digital out. But the A/D in the D7/D8 is so bad, you probably don't want to
do this anyway. What are D100/M1 owners doing? Can they record from analog
in and pass digi out with the passive Sony 7-pin? Sorry for the digression.

Good point.

I've received 7 responses so far, some offering to trade their optical cable,
and some offering way more than $100. I'll either trade the cable or pick
someone to sell it to for $100.

Thanks Len. I am planning on eventually buying a CO2. For my setup (D8,
Zefiro/Denecke AD20 ) the most compact connection is the 7-pin straight to
TOSLINK into the AD20. The reason I didn't like the Oade cable is because I
had to have the cable itself plus a weird RCA to mono-mini cable to connect
to the AD20.
With a brand new AD20, I missed the first few seconds of a set because that
damn mini connector. I had to jiggle the mini cable around until I got a
signal reading on my D8. If the AD20 didn't have optical out, it would be
useless.
** To all Zefiro/Denecke AD-20 owners **
Get an optical cable and ditch the wacky mini S/PDIF. Even if you haven't
had problems with it yet, you eventually will.
Anyway, for regular taping I like the idea of only needing a single cable to
connect my deck and A/D. I'll buy a CO2 so I can offer optical and S/PDIF
out at shows where people might need a patch.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions,
Eric

Is anyone else sick of people using this list as a advertising ground for
their EBAY auctions? It's nice if people would offer the stuff here first,
instead of ",Hey look at my auction, don't miss out." It just seems there is
more and more people using this for free advertising. Lots of people do
offer their gear for sale on here , don't get me wrong, but the Ebay thing
is getting old.

Date: Wed, 06 Mar 2002 00:16:32 -0500
I am forwarding an excerpt of private email from
Doug that he gave me permission to edit. The
overall summary is that they and other vendors
want to support getting more people out there taping
and are willing to invest in inventory, even as the
DAT manufacturers are ending production.
Doug specifically noted that the Oades especially
like to see tapers helping tapers.
Depending on the needed application its still
possible to hook your D-X/M1 in; speak with some
of the vendors to confirm your application. I
think the passive cable he is referring to is $110
and does not have the digital/analog switch.

We are still able to supply Sony 7 pin passive
cables, as does Core Sound and others. They work
in many situations. We are currently trying to
get Sony to make 1000 of the 7 pin RKDA10P cables
for us. I do not know if they will, but we
are hoping for the best.

Hello
I notice that despite my mail to you a while ago, concerning the fact that
you are displaying a name that is the same as mine, and the same town, on
your "bad traders" page.
Despite the fact that I share the name amd also live in the same town, and
have pointed out to you the embarrassment caused, you have done nothing
about your page, which in my book makes your name calling of these people
somewhat mute as you obviously have no qualms about displaying names you
cannot verify where the actual names of those involved.
You do not state that someone could have used a false name, a practice quite
common to most thieves and low - life's, though you seem to not be able to
grasp this concept, smothered as it is by your holier than thou atitude.
I asked you to remove, and now I demand you remove reference to my name.
If you do not, I will instruct my ISP to contact Voicenet and Webserve and
demand the removal of all content and links.
I would also recommend you look at the legality of bootleg exchanges, it
seems from my (so far limited) contact with voicenet you are in the US of A,
like here in the UK it is legal to own a bootleg but not to buy, sell or
(important here) "exchange".
If you wish to continue to defame innocent people because they share a name
you claim to have once been given, then fair enough, I can be unreasonable
too. And quite simply I want all reference to my name removed.
I will expect a satisfactory (to myself) response to this mail within 24
hours, after that I will initially mail every trader ring I can find, no
doubt you may find it amusing to have your name dragged thru the mud. Then
I will have my isp contact voicenet & webserve. then I will contact the RIAA
along with the many other copyright protection organisations I can find
based within the U.S. of A. As a solicitor (contract and copyright law),
you don't have a leg to stand on, in regards to your "hobby".
thank you
MK (a real one, with ID to prove it)
