I wish this was true, but it is infact totally false.
the band doesn't mind if you tape, however you will
have to stealth it. you should tape them though they
are the best live show on earth. And the setlists
this tour so far have been very cool with lots of rare
songs. their is a page for people who are taping this
tour at www.311bootlegs.com/bootlist.html
here is a email I recieved from peter raspler of 311
management in regards to taping:
>thanks for your email.
we do not issue any permission for the taping of live
shows. sorry.
wish i
could be of further assistance. thanks for your

Datheads,
I would like to supplement my 311 e-mail as follows.
In the past it's been the case that Jamie (the soundman) doesn't mind taping,
That p-nut's girlfriend is a bug about no recording.
So if it's low-key it can be cool,
If management finds out that it's going on they might nix it(pun intended).
We don't want to get management overwhelmed and shut everyone down even more than they have in the past..
Too many tapers showing up might freak them out,
If they don't mind a little recording here or there that's one thing, but if it's open taping.
I I think we (datheads) need to use discretion, and take Baby Steps.
You and I Know that it would benefit them short and long term to have tapers there every night,
They've not been totally forthcoming in the past.
Good Luck, I hope it works out so we can tape them with big rigs regularly.

Hi,
I am not doing much taping these days and debating passing this
equipment to someone that it might put it to immediate use.
I apologize for not including a price, but that is because this post
is not to sell it but to see whether its worth that effort. This would
not be a firesale. Let me know your interest, if you flat out don't want
the apogee, and I'll decide whether I really intend to sell.
The PDR-1000 is completely mint, I purchased it direct from a
Pro Audio dealer who had obtained on behalf of a customer who
used it to do audio for "one commercial" and then resold it to me. I
have put less than 15 hours on it (in 9 months) myself. Portabrace
case would be included; I would keep the external battery system.
AD-1000 has seen much more use, but still sounds good. Other
options (DA-1000E/V-2) might be possible.
Thanks
Sean

I have acquired one of these gorgeous machines, which some of you will know
can be bought at quite low prices on e-Bay these days. Sonic bargains, and
built like tanks!
However, these possess some sophisticated circuits that stop one from making
digital copies directly from a domestic CD player, which rather ruins the
idea of this being a retired-to-domesticity DAT machine for my home hi fi
rig! Having said that, it makes fabulous recordings from analogue sources
...
Can anyone advise me (please e-mail direct as well as post in DAT Head
answers) how I can overcome this issue?

I have a pair of Audio Magic Sorcerer 1 meter XLRs I picked up for a steal of a

incredible stiff. Are all sorcerers like this? What's the best way to break

will i damage them by giving them a big beating? I feel like i'm breaking in my

Reply-To: Thomas Wulf <TaWulf@wulfware.de>
Date: Thu, 7 Mar 2002 09:10:53 +0100
Hi folks,
Sorry for the crosspost, but since the issue came up here a few of you
might want to know..:
FWIW: Yes the bug is real and one sector was dropped in every written
audio track.
It indeed never produced audible artefacts on good track indexes, but the
data were missing and the loss could accumulate etc.. and when the
track sat on a spot with high dynamics (which it really shouldn't or
else the track starts with a pop when jumping to it!) even the 1st
generation of 'Nero holes' could produce an audible click.
I wrote to Ahead about it (in German, to their marketing, about the
ongoing boycott and how i had to confirm the bug and also what a shame
it it that only EAC can handle read&write-offsets; maybe they'll bite
after all ?-).. They asked for my phone number to get back to me,
which they got but they never called. surprise..
Now I just downloaded their version 5.5.7.8 and lo and behold the bug
is gone! But: As far as i can tell their bug fix report doesn't
mention it!! Cowardly bastards! The track display shows correct timings and I
also did test burns and re-extractions and found the track bounderies to be
clean. (Albeit shifted by 30 samples, as expected with my burner.)
While I'm at it: Can somebdoy point out how I can choose the tracks to burn in EAC in
the right (alphabetical) order???? They *always* come out reversed or scrambled; (I run W98)
NOTE: I'm talking about burning, so what i do is: Tools-BurnCD -> Layout
Editor-Layout-Append files as New Track. No matter how I select,
anything over 2 files comes out wrong..
On a closing note I wonder: should I thank the folks that found out
about the bug or should I ask: WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU COME OUT
EARLIER??? Or is it me? Did I miss it all those years..?!?
Oh well, I think I'll put on some music..
:):):)
Thomas mailto:TaWulf@wulfware.de
PS: WRT The Bad Trader's Threat: Wouldn't it be enough to remove
ambiguities by adding street addresses:
" Mr John Doe of Market Place 1 cheated me for 2 CDs; not to be
confused with the honorable Mr John Doe
of Church Street 3, who is not even in the traders' scene."
I have to agree with him: you have no right to slander anybody's name;
things are bad enough with us adding to the problems in an attempt to
solve some.. When I did a name search for my own, 3/4 of all
references were about an active Neonazi; if he lived in my town I'd
really appreciate/demand everybody to tell us apart painstakingly!!
