Run c:\dat2wav /dat2wav > dataud/inputid 7:0 /out.wav > (bootup tells me the card's location is SCSI 7, tape drive is 0 > (program opens an explorer window) This is not the correct ID. The 2:0 you got from vdat is probably what you need. It's the ASPI ID, not the SCSI ID. I don't know why SCSIPING isn't working for you. It could be an ASPI layer problem but if vdat works, ASPI should be working I think. > --Copied the Nero wnaspi32.dll into the dat2wav folder and rebooted > (still explorer window) I don't think this should do anything to help. > --deleted wnaspi32.dll from dat2wav volder. d/l forceaspi ran instaspi.bat > and rebooted > (loaded v. 4.60 of the adaptec aspi drivers) > (dat2wav still opens an Explorer window) > > --so, thinking that vdat has identified the correct address for the card and > deck, run c:\dat2wav /dat2wav dataud/inputid 2:0 /out.wav > (still opens explorer window) The one obvious problem I see is that you need a space after dataud. dataud is the file name you're using for saving the WAV file; /inputid is an instruction on where to look for the drive. The two mustn't run together. > anybody help here? If that doesn't work, I wonder if you've contacted Jim McLaughlin. I used it for less than 10 days, and it still works perfectly. You can see details of this card here: http://www.midiman.com/products/m-audio/audiophile.php The card sounds amazing, and works flawlessly under Windows 95/98/Me/2K/NT, and Mac G3 & G4 systems. The card includes RCA I/O, and a breakout cable for MIDI I/O, and S/PDIF coaxial I/O. This card also includes a powerful digital mixer/router, and control over SCMS. It also supports 24-bit 96kHz multitrack recording. Specifications: . Dynamic Range: D/A 104.0dB (a-weighted), A/D 100.4dB (a-weighted) . THD: less than 0.002% . Freq. Response: 22Hz - 22kHz, -0.4,-0.4dB Please visit the website above for the system requirements, etc. The retail price of this card new is $230 from Midiman's online store. I'm looking to sell it for around $150, which I think is fair for being used, but the price is negotiable; I'll be more than happy to work out a deal on it. How many hours use, is resonable ect... thanks Jamie p.s auzzie, leave this auction alone, I need this deck for my Tool Touring ;) Hi Jamie Thank you for your interest in this auction. I apologise for taking so long to get back to you, but I had to contact the owner of this item to get the details. In answer to your question, The unit has had approx. 8 hours use give or take an hour. It has used one of the said tapes mentioned (but is blank now) in the auction and the other three are brand new (never used). The unit has not been used for approx. 18 months, hence the reason for selling. It is in A1 condition (As new) and in PERFECT WORKING ORDER. The unit has been well cared for!! There are NO scratches, dents or marks of any kind that I can see. The bandwidth is certainly available for it as 2496 does not max out USB 1 12mbps throughput. I believe it comes to around 7mpbs. I'm not planning on recording an orchestra, but I like the background on when to use what technique. It seems like it would also apply elsewhere. I just got some great front row center seats for a MMW show in a small-ish theater (seats 800) on April 13. I think I'm going to be able to get a stand in and do a stage lip recording with my Oktava MC012's and M1. I'm looking for more specific information about what might be a good way to go for this configuration. I was thinking ORTF (with cardioids), but I have never used that technique before. I have an AT t-bar, and just the plain mic mounts that came with the mics. This puts them at the same height, so if I cross the mic bodies, they will not be on the same plain (one will point slightly up, one slightly down). I'm wondering if this is OK, or if I should do something to be able to adjust the height of the mics so they can be on the same plain. Maybe at this close proximity it won't matter. I've only used them in a NOS configuration before, and maybe that would still be a better way to go. What do you folks think? I'm trying not to sink more money into the rig at the moment as I expect to owe Uncle Sam some money soon. Otherwise I'd get some shock mounts with adjustable height to get around this. Any tips appreciated!
