Hi, I am going to be attending a show at Irving Plaza soon. I am going to be
on the guest list with the band headlining the show. I need to find out the
taping policy of the Irving Plaza venue in NYC. The band is allowing me to
tape, but they cannot give me permission since I need to clear it with the
venue. I am looking to set up a mic stand and/or patch into the soundboard.
Anyone who helps me gets a free copy of the show on CDR(s). This includes
people at the venue and in the band : )
I tried webmaster@irvingplaza.com but the 2 e-mails never went through. I am
going to call the box office early tomorrow afternoon, but please if anyone
out there knows how I can get in touch with the owner/manager of the venue,
or someone that could help me, I'd be very grateful.
Please reply off-list, thanks.

Can anyone inform me on the maximum allowable cable length without
alteration of signal?
Transmission will be from a Computer Sound card out a 1/8" Mini TS
Connector then a 75 ohm LV-61S cable terminated with a RCA into a SPDIF
RCA Port on a Tascam DA-40 Recorder.

Somebody confirmed with me that many of Creative Labs soundcards in the
Live! Series [excluding some OEM versions] OUTPUT a voltage higher than
the SPDIF Spec which is 0.5v
The Live! Cards output 5 VOLTS and I read that this can damage the SPDIF
IN on a DAT Recorder through the COAX RCA Port.
I am worried about using my DA-40 with one of these cards. Can anyone
confirm if this can damage? This is quite annoying since I just found
out that the cards actually re-sample 48K and 44.1K signals.

Sorry to waste more messages on this, but Earthlink screwed up
and gave me an invalid email name! So, my new and current email
address, which seems to actually work, is:
gdavisloop@earthlink.net
If anyone has sent me mail in the last few days, please send it
again...
thank you,

heya listers,
i just got another copy of this fabulous JGB show 08-08-93. i used to have
it on analog a few years ago and this is definitely the same source as the
DAT i received recently.
i got both copies of this show listed as Sbd's. although they do sound great
i am doubting it to be a sbd.
are my ears deceiving me? can anyone shed some light on this? Or a mic
source if it is indeed a VERY good audience recording?
thanks for the space and your time,
love and light,
marty chillen

Using Toast, it's necessary to save the source as a disc image and then
burn from the saved disc image. Any inquiries, feel free. Thanks Shane.
