wooden jewelers case) or a matched pair of TLM-103's.
If you have a pair sitting around as your 'B' rig or if you're looking to

What type of run times have those using NIMH batteries
in a D8 been getting ?
I also have a new M1. I have seen reports of 4+ hours
is this with the standard 1300 mah Sony batteries or
after market 16,17 or 1800 mah batteries ?
Are there any sites with faq on NIMH batteries
focusing on usage in tape recorders ?
Most seem to be geared toward digital cameras.

how about this easy solution...although it's not my 1st choice...you could
take the analog out of your deck and go into your computer via the analog
inputs on the audiophile 2496 and record it at 44.1kHz. now like i said...it
definitely wouldn't be my 1st choice...but if you absolutely don't have any
money to buy a new application or some hardware, then this is a choice.
the other option would be to buy the Behringer Ultramatch SRC2000. This is a
pretty cool box that the list price is $149 and is being sold through
Musician's Friend(Guitar Center) for about $110.

The Sony SDT9000 made for SGI is audio-capable DDS-3. They're a bit
hard to find ouside of SGI channels (where you'll spend a mint) but they
pop up on ebay every now-and-then.

Looking to see if someone might be able to tape a
friends band his coming Monday night at a club called
Gig in Hollywood. My friend is Alice Cooper's lead
guitarist and this is his own band. They are being
managed by the same people who manage American Hi-Fi
and they are starting to gain a buzz within the
industry so they should be signed soon. Do think of
it as getting in early on something good. The bands
called Roxie77 very 70s rock sound (Cheap Trick, Kiss)

Go to Thomas Distributing for 1800mAh from various manufacturers, MAHA being
the longest-lasting. http://thomas-distributing.com/index.htm
Get a better charger too, the one included with the M1 is almost guaranteed
to overcharge your batteries...it delivers 650mA for as long as it remains
connected which is just asking for trouble. Get an "intelligent" charger
which senses when the batteries are fully charges and switches to trickle
mode (lower current). The MAHA MH-C204F is highly recommended, also
available at Thomas Distributing.
Can also read this detailed comparison of NiMH AA batteries at an on-line
digital camera site. Written before 1800mAh batteries came out but still
good.
