From: Mike <dsrec@optonline.net> Subject: ISO: Apogee Case Date: Sat, 13 Apr 2002 19:27:23 -0400 I'm sure I'll get a lot of crap for asking but does anyone have or is anyone willing to make a case/box for an Apogee Ad1k. I've been told that its easy but lets just say that shop-class wasn't my best subject. Anyone offer some help? -Mike
From: Mathias Rombach <rombachm@gmx.de> Subject: Live recordings Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 02:54:37 +0200 Hy there, I am interested in any kind of live recordings of 60s, 70s rock bands. Please offer anything. Have a lot of material to exchange here. All the best from Germany, Mathias
From: "Erik B" <erikb33@bellatlantic.net> Subject: ISO: Hawksley Workman 4/14/02 UK Date: Sat, 13 Apr 2002 21:42:02 -0400 Might be too late now anyway, but in case somebody taped this (or gets this in time to make it - I'll gladly cover the cover charge): Hawksley Workman @ the Hammersmith Lyric Theatre in London on Sunday April 14 w/String Quartet I'm interested in copies of any other performances, but especially this one. Full tour dates & more info about him can be found at http://www.hawksleyworkman.com/tourdates.html mostly in France in the near future.... He's ok with audience taping, soundboard is usually ok if he doesn't have to get involved with it, no go on video. He's typically compared to the likes of Jeff Buckley, David Bowie, Harry Nilsson, Queen...... Quite mesmerizing live performer. Erik

From: Beau Colburn <teampossum@mindspring.com> Subject: FS: Sonosax SX-M2 preamp Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 11:40:14 -0400 Hey All- I've decided to get rid of my pre-amp, as I rarely tape anymore, and it's getting no use. It's in perfect condition, and was recently given a full 'tuneup' by an authorized Sonosax dealer. $800, and I'll throw in a Pelican case for it. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks- Beau --- Beau Colburn teampossum@mindspring.com
From: SWG <scottgoodwin@comcast.net> Subject: Seeking advice on DAT-less new recording methods Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 12:47:56 -0400 I'm looking for a new recorder. I don't really want to buy another DAT recorder, as I see the medium fading from the scene, and I want to be able to stealth. What I really want is this: Portable DAT-sized Records at least four hours of audio Runs at least three hours on a given battery or charge 16 Bit / 44.1 khz or better Coax digital and analog ins Coax digital and analog outs What's out there these days? Anything? I'll assume we'd be talking about a hard drive-based system here, and a laptop would be ideal for my needs except for the stealthability aspects. Discussion? Websites? Suggestions? SWG
From: SWG <scottgoodwin@comcast.net> Subject: Bizarre Sony D3 Behavior Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 13:21:16 -0400 I've spent most of today trying to figure this out and am still stumped: My D3 will record merrily, showing levels the entire time. Upon playback, the tape has varying-length blank spots interspersed with chunks of the source I recorded. This blankness is not crackles or noise, but 100% signal loss. This happens whether I am using line in or microphone sources, and seems to have nothing to do with source material. It happens whether I am on house current or battery. I do not currently have a 7 pin (should be here Monday) so I have not tested digital in, but I would like to use my analog ins as much as possible, so I need to figure this one out. Any ideas? I'd love to find a copy in any format of a D3 service manual, plus any suggestions of someone who might diagnose and fix, say, a loose mic/line in jack connection without charging me more than this thing is worth. Not that it's worth much. Any and all advice appreciated. - Scott

From: "Thomas Avallone" <tav2367@msn.com> Subject: McCartney Chicago shows Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 20:59:38 +0000 Hi DatHeads - Before my inbox gets flooded with emails on this one, please understand I'm only looking for artists who are listed on my site (which can be found here: www.tav2367.20m.com) Also - please understand I can't do anymore B&P's for these shows. I honestly just don't have the time - and I really need to limit this to traders who really have what I am looking for. I wound up beating the metal detectors and successfully recorded Paul's incredible shows on 4/10 & 4/11 in Chicago with very good/excellent results (dependent upon how subjective you are). SSdsm6/L > MOD2 > D100 > SBLive Platnum > wav > cdr I apologize if I'm sounding like a jerk on this - but word has already gotten around extreamly quick - and I'm backed up more than ever on trades...But I do want to share these as much as possible. More info can be found on my 'Master Recordings' page on my website. www.tav2367.20m.com I will accept DATs, but I can only submit CDR at this time.
