Hello old Friends!
Once again I'm on my collecting contribution's kick!
I've got some killer sets from Jazz Fest 2002, the sound is incredible!
At these sets Taping was not allowed

Fairgrounds Acura Stage
Jazz and Heritage Festival
New Orleans, LA
Source: Audience CSB> M1- Front Row Center on the Rail with Mic's clamped to

(about 40' from the Stage)
2002-05-02 Gov't Mule & Blues Traveler
2002-05-05 Ratdog & Phil Lesh Quintet
And of course a lot of the other shows of the weekend!
But as always my list is open for B&P & Contribution's!
Contributions made out as a money to "The Savannah Woody Trust Fund"
I also have about 35 Handbills advertising the Warren Haynes Solo gig @
Looney Tunes on March 20, 2002....That Warren Haynes personally signed and
Fed Ex to me yesterday....That I would also like to collect Contributions
for! (I can Email a photo of the handbill if any one wants to see it)
With that I have HiRes Photo's of all the shows....Front row center @ the
Loony Tunes gig, 8 shows at Jazzfest, 9 nights at the Beacon w/ ABB!
And a killer list of shows!
Now just to appease the skeptic amongst us, these shows aren't fort sale,
and are not being horded (they are all available for download from various
FTP servers)
But I'm counting on the folk that have kind hearts, that can get the shows
but don't want to wait for an offer, can't trade for some reason...or just
want to help this little girl of Allen Woody's out!
Please leave the any Flames off the list's! Email me! Though most people
by now know my intentions!
Remember these are M/O's made out only to the Fund "NOT ME"
I get nothing from doing this except a warm fuzzy feeling that I have helped
someone!
Just a few Pict. I have been able to put up from Les Claypool's NOLA
Tipitina show!

Subject: Building battery packs...

Hey folks... a question for the engineers in the audience...
I have a 18-amphour lead-acid 12-volt battery that I would like to power my
Tascam DA-P1 with.
I did take physics in college, but this is beyond my immediate grasp so I'm
looking for seasoned advice.
So, if you could reply with links/advice on either of these subjects I'd be
very happy, gotta have this thing ready for the summer schedules... ;-)
1. has anyone done something specifically like this with a da-p1?
2. could you give any general electronics advice about powering
a m-volts/n-amps dc device that wants with an x-volt battery?
Bonus Question:
3. say I finally get that f-volt/g-amp preamp I've been wanting,
how would I power both the da-p1 and the preamp with this battery?
Thanks,
Brandy

Subject: Tascam DA20MKII problem
Date: Sat, 18 May 2002 15:29:01 -0500
I have a DA20MKII that won't stay closed. When you hit the open/close
button the unit closes all the way, the motor makes a grinding noise at the
point where it would normally stop and then spits the tray back out. It
does this with or without a tape in the tray. I opened the unit up, none of
the gears appear to be worn and the belt seems to be ok as its not loose or
slipping. Has anyone seen this problem before or know what might be causing
it?? Is it worth getting repaired?? Any help is greatly appreciated

Has anyone traveled by airline with their taping gear recently? Have they
had any problems getting their gear on the plane either as a carry on or by
checking it?
I'm going to Bonnaroo from NYC by plane and was wondering if I might have a
problem?
Looking for a response, email address above.

Subject: Paul McCartney 4-16-02 Philadelphia B/P offer on CDR for now
Date: Sat, 18 May 2002 17:21:48 EDT
Hey people
Thanks to Matt's kind generosity (I'm talking Matt in Wilmington), I now have
both CDRs of this gig although I haven't checked CDR#2 yet. Assuming it's
fine, I can offer both as a b/p, preferably on CDR because I don't even know
how long the show is. I have an Imac computer so plan to make the clones
using the imac, which should be quite a lot faster than if I use DAT or CDR
standalone equipment.
I'll take 5 b/p (and not necessarily the first 5, I know people get
frustrated when they read their datheads digest a few hours after they get it
in their inbox!) but I am still trying to figure out how to do the copying on
the imac so I may need more time than your average CDR b/p person. I also
have a PDF that Bob gave us, nice art and stuff. If you're interested email
me, I'll try to be more helpful. I'd like to keep this offer to people in
the US for now, and you'd have to supply b/p plus an address label. I know
I'm already behind on b/p (dat) for others, so sorry about that. I'm in the
process of moving (and not even to Junior's farm) so different stereo pieces
are in different locations, what a mess. I'll probably take more than 5, and
I'm sure other people will also offer B/P, so people don't get discouraged if
I can't help you, I'm sure you can wait another day, and with patience I'm
sure this B/P will stay on with other DATheads at least for a year. No more
lonely nights and stuff, don't go and get too hi hi hi, and no those songs
weren't even played.
In terms of the setlist, it's mostly a Beatles hits package (barely any Wings
hits, and a few current songs), like a Wings Over America, performed in 2002.
So if you're looking for a lot of Back to the Egg/Venus & Mars or Press to
Play/Russian album/etc... then listen to those 1990 shows which are more
"current." If you want more Wings hits from Ram/McCartney/etc, then I'd
recommend Wings Over America (1976 tour) or the fab recording from Mike T.
Ah, I can see all those Wings fans suddenly losing interest in this 4-16-02
show, ha ha. But don't worry, he does "Jet" as the second song, and it still
rocks.
take care
Mike
ps - source is schoeps mk4v and two things and D100. The info is on the PDF.
It does sound really nice, of course sound quality is subjective!

Just got this recent Ryan Adams show from The Warfield in San Francisco
(details below) on 2 CDs. Nice. If you'd enjoy a trade for this, please send
a list. I'm into other Ryan Adams shows and I'm looking for the last 3 songs
of his Amsterdam: Feb 6, 2002 show if anyone can help with that. Also trying
to find Bob Dylan: May 10, 1995 in San Diego. Otherwise, open to looking at
