I have not traveled since 9/11, but the only problem I have before that,
besides the usual bag check because of all the electronic gear, are my
batteries. I've been hassled a few times about them (I have two
eco-charge for my DA-p1). Because they say "Sealed Lead-Acid Battery" on
them I've got hassled a few times. One time after just talking to them
about it they just let me thorugh. Another time they wouldn't let me
carry them on and I had to pack them with my checked bags and another
time they wouldn't let me bring them on the plane at all and I had to
ship them Fed-Ex, this time was around the Christmas Holiday so security
was a little more beefy than usual. All of these occasions happened at
the Seattle airport. What I do now is just pack the batteries on my
checked bag ahead of time so I don't have to deal with security and just
hope my bags don't get lost.

europe taping or have taped Arthur Lee on his tour this month? He's
already played 3 shows in Denmark, and is doing shows through June.
The tour itinerary can be found here:

A couple of months ago, I made a trade for a Commander Cody show at
Ebbets Field in Denver, with a date of 11/8/73 in CD-R format. Not
being a good record keeper, I can't find the propper lineage, and would
like to get it.
Also, I got a hold of Commander Cody through his agent, and have gotten
his written permission to trade any of his non-comercial release music
for free. I have been working on a couple of them, but could use more
if any are around. Somehow, I get the feeling that having the artists
permission isn't to big a deal on this list though.

Hey, all.
Reposting this as the show is tomorrow night and I haven't heard from
anyone.
We were first on line and the early show was sold out, so we took what
we could get, which was two late show tickets. We're too old to stay up that
late, so we want to trade for early show for the same night. We can hook up
in NYC or in Essex County, NJ. Carl Mink

Subject: LET'S GET REAL!
Date: Mon, 20 May 2002 13:39:04 -0400
Hi everyone. First let me just say thanks to everyone who expressed interest
in that great McCartney show from the FU Center that's now circulating. I
see lots of B+P offers for it and i think that's cool. Also let me thank the
75% or so of people who actually sent me good tapes in trade (and of course
the King of France).
This is what I want to discuss for a minute or two. PEOPLE NEED TO BE MORE
CRITICAL OF THEIR OWN LISTS! I know nobody likes to say that any of their
tapes (especially masters) suck, but if you have thousands of hours of
music, I'm sorry to say, some of it obviously sucks. Looking over people's
lists and seeing that every tape is marked "A" or A-" or "EX" is very
frustrating when trying to pick something out. Save the "A's" and the "EX's"
for the truly killer stuff.
Allow me to paint a little scenario:
A package for which you've been anxiously waiting arrives in the mail and
you quickly open it and pop it in the player, hoping to hear what's been
touted as a great tape. Instead, it sounds like it was recorded with a "My
First Sony" from the rear stall of the MSG men's room. All that waiting and
hoping has earned you another coaster. I'm sure most of you know what that's
like.
Basically, if you have a tape that sounds bad, please be honest and tell
people that. Don't just send it on out. I got hosed a number of times on
this trade (and I mean I got some stuff that was REALLY bad), and I don't
think that, if you've heard the McCartney, you can blame me for needing some
time to vent. That having been said, if a newbie somewhere wants them of if
anyone is interested in padding their list with some shitty tapes (and
apparantly they're out there), i'll give you some for the cost of postage.
Thanks for listening.
Chris

Hello
Want to transfer some tapes to CD-R using cool edit
pro.
M1 with a 7 pin>TTl cable to a Soundblaster live value
card
No equalizing, no fades etc...
Questions:
What would be the "correct" level of the huge wav
before doing the track split?
Should I normalize it afterwards?
Also, if someone knows a kind of FAQ regarding this
kind of digital transfers using cool edit pro would be
really nice
Ed :-)
