This show is completely SOLD OUT! Seats are located in Section 305, Row 11, Seats 17 & 18. I bought these by joining "Sam Goody Access" for a 1 year membership solely to be eligible for the pre-sale. I did this because I had no luck getting tickets to the Orpheum or Foxboro shows by phone or on line during the sale. And I didn't want to be shut out once they announced this additional show. So I need to also get reimbursed for this membership fee. A friend ended up having closer seats that I bought. So here are these for sale. Most of the seats at this show sold for $325 each!!!! $300 for the pair. Insured, express mail delivered. Please email me if interested. Date: Mon, 27 May 2002 12:06:22 -0400 Hi, Just subscribed today- not owning a DAT deck yet, but hoping to acquire one very soon. I'll be looking here for advice :) In the meantime, I am busy compiling a CDR tree for the Paul Kelly mailing list- trying to get the best live recording of all 50+ songs he performed on the recent "Nothing But a Dream" tour, and I'm told several DAT-Heads made tapes. PLEASE, if you recorded a show from Paul Kelly's tour in March-April through America, let me know! I have lots of other shows to trade back (on CDR) and you'd be doing this project a huge favour and spreading good karma throughout the world. I got a nice show from The Smithereens at the St. Louis Rib America Festival last night. A couple weird happenings at the show: The Monkees played earlier in the day, so the drummer goes off into a Monkees Tribute. Also, according to the vocalist, they perform for the first time ever a Springsteen cover that they played for a tribute cd. He forgot most of the lyrics. It comes with its original box, battery, wall wart, and manual. I also have an Eco Charge Power cable for the DA-P1 that I'll include as well. I'm selling the unit because I prefer the smaller sony recorders to this one. E-mail and I'll give you some more info on the unit. I'd like to get around $675 for it plus shipping. Thanks Bob BostonEA@aol.com ------------------------------ From: Max Kamenetsky Subject: FS: Sony TCD-D8 + cables ($225 OBO) Date: Mon, 27 May 2002 14:15:36 -0700 I'm selling my Sony TCD-D8. I haven't done any taping in over a year, so I think it's time to unload some of my equipment. The unit is in excellent cosmetic and working condition with one exception: the button that operates the door opening mechanism does not work properly. It usually takes a few tries of pushing it before it responds. I suspect that anyone with a screwdriver and a couple spare hours can fix this problem by opening the unit and adjusting the pin that controls the door mechanism. The deck comes with all of the manuals, leather case, AC adapter, and the original battery sled. I'm also going to throw in an optical --> 7-pin cable and a 7-pin --> XLR cable. $225 or best offer (plus shipping) takes it all. Please reply to me personally, not to the list. Max ------------------------------ From: Max Kamenetsky Subject: FS: Otari DTR-8S ($450 OBO) Date: Mon, 27 May 2002 14:24:22 -0700 I have an Otari DTR-8S pro deck for sale. This is a pro deck that is very similar to the Fostex D-5 and the Tascam DA-20 MkII. Absolutely no SCMS, balanced I/O, AES/EBU inputs (but they work perfectly fine with D8's version of S/PDIF), etc. Two nice feature that neither the D-5 nor the DA-20 have are: (1) a head hours display and (2) "character pack", which allows you to write up to 60 characters at each Start ID. The latter is great for adding song titles/info and then watching it scroll on the display when you get to that track. The unit is in excellent cosmetic and working condition, was very lightly used, and comes with the original manual, remote control, rack mounting brackets, and even the original box. I'll also throw in a pair of XLR --> RCA cables that will allow you to connect it to an amp that doesn't have XLR. I'm asking $450 + shipping for the whole thing, but I'll entertain other offers. Please reply directly to me, not to the mailing list. Max ------------------------------ From: Max Kamenetsky Subject: FS: Core Sound BB Mics ($175 OBO) Date: Mon, 27 May 2002 14:30:09 -0700 I'm selling my trusty pair of Core Sound Battery Box mics. This unit has the bass rolloff built into the battery box and the original alligator clips on the mics. Very stealthy and sounds great! I'm asking $175 + shipping. Please reply directly to me, not to the mailing list. Max P.S. If someone is interested in these mics together with the Sony D8 deck I'm selling (see previous post), I'm also going to throw in a padded carrying case that fits both the D8 and the mics. Very handy! ------------------------------ From: Max Kamenetsky Subject: FS: Sony WMD-DT1 ($300 OBO) Date: Mon, 27 May 2002 14:41:07 -0700 I'm selling my Sony WMD-DT1 DAT player. For those who are not familiar with this unit, it's a TINY (not much larger than the size of a single DAT tape) DAT player. It does not have record capability or a digital output, so this is not the deck that you'd want to take to a show or to use for cloning, but this is exactly the kind of deck you'd want to take jogging or to listen to your tapes in the office or in the car. The deck has very few hours on it (I'm guessing about 20) and is in excellent condition. It comes with the original wired remote with the proprietary plug and headphones, leather case, and, of course, the original manual. I'll also throw in an AC adapter (this was an extra $35 back when I bought the deck). I'm asking $300 + shipping or best offer. Please reply directly to me, not to the mailing list. (Overall double screens = give better EMC protection.) - Multicore cables with individually screened pairs have higher capacity = to the screens and hence greater loss but are satisfactory for shorter = runs. Cables intended for data have some advantages even for short runs, = and they also work quite well with analogue signals. This approach could = therefore be considered if new cabling is needed. - For cable runs greater than 150m, special cables together with = re-clocking receiving devices may be needed. - All circuits should be correctly terminated in 110 ohms. - Avoid changes of cable type along a particular circuit. Changes in = impedance cause reflections which can generate inter-symbol = interference, (15-20 m. seems to be the critical length)."
