Since I got such great feedback last time, I'm repeating my offer of a free
2-disc CD B&P of Leo Kottke's 02/02/2002 performance at the Palace Theatre,
in Manchester, NH. This show turned out to be one of the best I've taped so
far, both in terms of Leo's performance and the quality of the recording.
I'd like to share it with as many people as possible, hence this repeat
offer. Those of you who missed it last time, or didn't have a chance to
complete the deal, here's your chance to get this excellent show in exchange
for 2 blank discs. To wet your appetite, I've posted a 7Mb sample .mp3 from
this show here:
http://www.midcoast.com/~tvman/mp3/leokottke.mp3
Please contact me via e-mail if interested. Trades also considered.

Hi,
I wonder if anyone taped Mary Lorson May 11th on Vin
Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight" (WFUV)?
Also inquiring if anyone can tape her upcoming drop-in
on Irwin Chusid's show June 5 (2-3 pm) on WFMU?
I've got lots of different artists (including many
pre-fm shows) that I could trade for. I really would
appreciate it if someone can help me out.
thanks,
Chris

Subject: Anyone have sub-cardioid mic experience?
Date: Wed, 29 May 2002 02:28:57 +0000
I'm looking for any input from anyone who may have experience using
sub-cardioid mics for live recording. Pretty much stealth mic wise, and
preferably AT brand, but any input is welcome about any type/brand.
I use the AT 933 type, and have used the omni binaurals in the past and
currently use the cardioid caps. I had very nice results with the omni's and
great-awesome results with the cards. I like the "atmosphere" of the omni's,
but the cards do give that "in your face" feel, and do tend to tune out
surrounding crowd noise. That was my only drawback from continuing with the
omni's is that the crowd can get pretty loud around them since they are 360
degrees (especially for stealth).
I plan on recording some upcoming shows from very close and was just curious
about using the sub-cardioid since their specs are somewhere between the
omni's and cards as far as degrees. I'd still like the card aspect of tuning
out the loud crowd, but also to maybe add a little "omni" atmosphere, and
was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of mic
element, sub-card vs. omni and/or card.
Thanks,
Joe

These should be pretty prime seats for taping in the Kalamazoo Theatre.
5th row in the Right/Center aisle...the Flecktones should let you set up
wherever.
I have 3 tickets that cost me $36.75/ea with all the service charges.
I'd like to sell all three of them together, please contact me if
interested.
thanks,
