Hy,
there are only the two double-LPs from the early 70s and the Mastercut
Video of 1994 (25 year ant.).
Donīt know about anything else.

Subject: M1 vs. D8, the final tally - and who sells them cheapest?
Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2002 10:04:20 -0700
I've received too many email messages about this debate to reply, but
I'll share with the list the definitive answer: DEAD EVEN TIE. For
every "M1s are the absolute best!", there was a "D8 has done me right!",
and for every "Skip the M1 for sure, because of ___________.", there was
another comment just like it from a D8 user. Baffling. All that input
and still no clear winner!
Anyhoo, I'm buying one, and I'm buying one this week. One or the other,
that is. And mostly it comes down to price. I'm leaning towards the D8,
but if there's a <$700 (***NEW***) M1 out there, it will be a contender
for my hard-earned taping dollar. A *requirement* will be delivery by
next Wednesday. Can you say Bonnaroo? I knew you could.
So, who's got the best deal (and the best vibe) for purchase of either of
these decks in sealed, new, not-a-refurb condition? Anyone?

Sweet spot, pitfalls etc.. This would be for a taper-friendly band
(Tragically Hip) so presumably stands will be allowed. Any info is much
appreciated.

I suss out the folks making the noise and if it looks like I can trust
them, I tell them i'm taping and offer to send them a copy of the show.
If I taped the previous nites show, and its already on cd, i'll give them
a copy as a bribe to be quiet....

Hey!
I think the best possible solution to your problem, is to bring a friend =
or two at the
shows. I always (95% anyway) bring at least one friend along that also =
is in to the
band that can help me when a situation like this occurs. The best =
solution is to
bring two friends. That way, you can have one on each side of you to =
stop this
phenomenon to happen!
I know it might be tricky sometimes, but tell your friends to speak with =
those who
necessarily have to speak during the shows... They get tired after a =
while. If you
DON'T talk to them, they often get angry and start to scream at you. NO =
GOOD...
So, bring a friend or two, it helps!! At one smaller concert hall in =
Gothenburg, SE,
I usually stand in the stairs to record, that lead vertically to the =
stage. If I then have
one friend on each side, I get above the crowd and I'm secured from =
"talkers" from
the sides. Brilliant!

I think Rob Garland used to maintain that and I thought he was still around,
but I am not certain you might poke around etree or phish stuff. Its not
cached
by Google and while archive.org claims to have several versions of it, I
could not
get any of them to display meaningful data. Your mileage may vary.

At the Wilco show in De Melkweg a few weeks back, it got so bad, Jeff collared
some lady, told her she was in big trouble, 'cos she was louder than the band!
He said, "last time I looked, people paid to come and see us, and not you!'
She left the show!
It's getting to the point where I am considering not going to shows anymore :(
Tix can be pretty expensive, plus travel costs, only to be frustrated by some
fckn assholes who have no respect for the artist(s) or their fellow

hello folks
this past week i taped a couple shows & am looking to swap them with some upcoming
shows by the same artists
i taped BLUE OYSTER CULT at kahunaville in wilmington, DE on wednesday 6/5
(great show while it lasted)
it was an outdoor show, where the band were going to play for almost 2.5 HOURS as
a semi-rehearsal gig for an upcoming show in chicago which they will be filming for a
live DVD...unfortunately though, i not only missed the first 2 songs, but the show was
stopped after only an hour due to thunderstorms :-(
BUT - they will be doing another super long semi-warmup show in a couple days, on
6-14 in Racine, Wisconsin, Lake Festival Park
BOC goes on at 9:30 after Fireworks (It's obviously another out door event!) and will
play through Midnight!
will anybody out thataway be willing to tape/trade that?? i already mastered the short
show i taped onto CD-R, and can trade it on either DAT or CD-R
also - i just taped 3 nils lofgren shows at the RAMS HEAD in ANNAPOLIS, MD (last
night, sat. night, and friday night)...the shows run about 2.5 hours each!!! awesome,
full band rocking shows with many songs i don't recall ever seeing him perform!!! he is
playing again tonight & i 'd like to trade for tonight's gig
anyone with those upcoming BOC or LOFGREN shows that wants to do a quick trade,
drop me a line
thanks,

Hey Folks,
A few digest back, Vanesh posted this beauty up for trade for other low gen
or master sources. Although I have some gems, he is not interested in a trade
( which I respect, despite some serious ass groveling), so I was hoping maybe
some other kind soul may have this show. It was my first Floyd experience,
and still ranks as my best live experience of all time. I would do just about
anything to get any copy available of this show. Hopefully it will just take
a trade from my 2000+ hours of CDRS and Dats.
If you have this show, or are getting it from Vanesh, please e-mail me off
line.
Spread the music folks!!

Good afternoon!
Last night I taped the Goo Goo Dolls and Five for Fighting at
Warner Theater
in D.C. The quality came out really good. Goo Goo Dolls played
all their
hits as well as a cover of "American Girl" and the Five for
Fighting show
was also quite impressive including their song "Superman" and a
great cover
of Elton John's "Rocket Man". The only flaws are in the Five for
Fighting
show and were due to a short in the lead singers mic cable. I
recorded the
feed off of an ALD receiver and while not soundboard quality was
pretty damn
close. Definitely better than most stealth auds going around. I
am going
to import to WaveLab and perform dynamics expansion / harmonics
reconstruction to make up for the short comings of the FM. Send
me your
lists if your interested. I will entertain any and all trades so
even if
you don't have a big list don't worry we'll work something out. I
can trade
on DAT, CD-R audio, CD-R shn, MD, analog cassette, (pretty much
any format
you would want to trade on), Wax cylinder upon special request
LOL.

I puzzled over this myself, and found some decent sites that helped me understand what it's all about:
http://www.dvdrw.com/
http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html
http://www.dvdplusrw.org/index.html
I became convinced that the DVD+RW is the better way to go, although currently more expensive and a narrower range of products to choose from.
Hope this helps.

Hey folks,
We've just finished posting a web page detailing how I increased my 7ah
Eco-Charge BP-50 batteries to 17ah batteries.
It's at: http://www.crater.net/taping/batteries
We would sure appreciate it if anyone who is familiar with such things
looked it over to correct us on any mistakes... though they seem to be
working just fine so far ;-)
A couple remaining questions:
1. How long does a 7.2ah or 17.2ah 6V battery run a DA-P1?
2. The Eco-Charge charger charges these 17ah batteries just fine with the
exception of the fact that the green 'finished' light doesn't come on when
they're done... any clue as to why?
Thanks,
Brandy Grace
