hi,
need to pick the brains of the vast pool of knowledge out there. i work
in a small office where i listen to music 10 hrs a day. ive got a nice
stereo system, but the speakers are on one side of the room and the way my
desk is, i'm pretty much listening only with my right ear. i want to put
speakers on the left side of the room, but dont sit in the center. i think
an ideal set up would include one of those joystick type quad set up that
were big way back when, so i can center the sound to my liking... any ideas
on how i can set up 4 speakers and achive this? i've looked on ebay for one
of those old audio joysticks, but come up dry.
thanks

While it is only halfway through the year, our committee has decided to
immediately award Mr. Bogus the trophy for "BEST RANT OF THE YEAR". His
detailed commentary of the woes of a taper have given us tremendous insight
(and great giggles!!!).
Mr. Bogus will be sent the standard "You don't know my pain" T-shirt and the
trophy- modeled after John McEnroe's stance during a confrontation with the
line judge.
Congratulations Johnny!! Now back to your standard

There are 2 of these units on ebay, neither have any bids. I do confess
to not knowing jack about these units, but they look like tanks, and one
add says they have 4 heads. Have they got 4 motors too? If anyoone
knows about these, I could use some info, like what kind of connectors
they have, and is one with 18 hours worth $450, and if is a good deal,
if any of you beat me out on this, I'll really get pissed.
TIA,
Keith

Ben's taping all the shows on this solo tour for an upcoming live album.
I called the New Haven venue (Toad's Place), asked about taping, and was
told to leave my gear at home. Normally, I believe Ben is okay with
taping as long as you don't set up a mic stand, but you will probably not
be allowed to tape any of these shows.
That having been said, I've heard reports of people successfully taping at
least two shows prior to the New Haven one (but I think they were
stealthed.)
Has anyone made a non-stealth tape of any of these shows?

Hi & happy father's day,
I'm wondering if anyone recorded some of the sets at the Adirondack Music
Festival last weekend. The lineup was not spectacular but there was some
standout acts.
I am mainly interested in the Lettuce set, both Soulive sets, & the all-star
jam w/ Medeski, Deitch, Kraz, Sco, & Garret Sayers. HQ German mics well
placed are preferrable but I will take anything at this point.
I have much to offer in return. Please email me for a list if you would be
willing to trade on DAT.

Since there's only a few of us actively working on it, it's not gotten too
far. I mean actively in the sense of the word that means that we're doing
it in our spare times, and being engineers with personal lives that's not
damn much. :)
We've started to pick back up again. We're working on a proof-of-concept
right now and are waiting on some information from vendors.
If anyone has a technical (electrical design, DSP, etc.) background and is
interested in contributing, please send me an e-mail.

Hi,
I have taped the Red Hot Chili Peppers (80 minutes) and Muse (60 minutes) at
the Heineken Jammin' Festival in Imola, Italy, on 15 june 2002.
I have used OKMIIr mics + Sony PCM-M1.
Being a unidecker, I can offer copies of the shows in SHN on cdr.
Interested in more new RHCP shows, U2, Down.....any great rock/heavy
recordings.
ciao
Luigi
PS: the new RHCP songs sound pretty good live, can't wait for the album
release!

SSIA.
The deck was purchased in Januray of 2000 from Terrapin. I have all the
necessary documentation including owner's manual, purchase receipt, all
service invoices, & original box.
It was given a clean bill of health by Pro Digital in September of 2001 & it
has literally not been used once since(other than to make sure it worked
fine).
I am asking $400 obo...please only serious inquiries. You pay shipping.
Reason for selling: Times are tough & I need the cash. I am also trying to
save money to purchase a preamp or an a/d convertor.
