Hello,
I am wondering if anybody knows the taping policy for the Beachwood
Sparks. They are coming here next month with The Shins and in a
co-headlining tour I believe (or The Shins may be headlining). If anybody
can help me out, I would be most appreciative.

This is more difficult that the SBM-1 mod because yor assumption is not
totally correct. From what I've read, the M1 does share a similar, maybe
even identical analog input stage (which is better than the D7/8), but the
A/D conversion harware is not the same at all. The M1 does not have any
dithering (aka "Super Bit Mapping") capabilities. The SBM-1 has some
over-engineered dithering hardare so it is possible to simply upgrade the
A/D converter to a 24-bit, more modern chip. The M1 would require much more
significant, and I'd guess also physically impossible inernal upgrades.
That's why...

Date: Wed, 19 Jun 2002 20:34:27 +0800
Storyhill (aka Chris Cunningham & John Hermanson) is temporarily reuniting for two shows in St. Paul and one in Bozeman. I have fantastic seats for the second St. Paul show and would love to tape (Geffel m300s > V2 > DA-P1). Anyone know their taping policy? I've gotten no response from their management company. Thanks for any help!
WBT: Ancient Harmony 5-30-02 The Cabooze, Mpls. (m300s > V2 > DA-P1) on 2 CDs. I'll do a few B&Ps of this great show.

I also got to see Elvis Costello at Wolftrap on Sunday. The audience was
very good. I planned on taping the show but a few hours before the show I
discovered that my D7 is dead. It will run from external power (AC
Adapter) but not from battery power. I know the batteries are good and
the voltage at the BATT terminals on the PCB are good. It just will not
switch over to battery power when the AC adapter is removed. Has anyone
else ever seen this happen?
Also, Please... if anyone has this Elvis Costello (Wolftrap, Vienna VA,
June 16,2002) please consider helping me out. I do have some other EC
shows to trade.
Thanks,
Mike

For Sale:
Tascam DA-P1
Purchased used from Sonic Sense on 12/19/2000 with a 5 year warranty.
The previous owner purchased the deck new and had it for 3 months.
Includes all original materials (box, manual, etc.).
The warranty will transfer to the buyer (about 3 and a half months
remain).
I have used the deck to tape about 20 shows.
The deck is in perfect working condition, and I have never had a problem
with it.
Cosmetically it is in good shape, except small scratch on the top.
I will include an Eco-Charge BP-50 battery, the charger, and a 1500
Pelican Case.
All reasonable offers will be entertained.

Just wanted to know if this is recommended or not. I completely spaced on
checking to see if I had any blank dats before Bonnaroo. I have a Sony pcm-m1
and I use the Sony DT-x minutesRA if that is useful.
Thanks,

Just curious, I found one of these compaq internal DDS drives and it says it's
a 4326NP. Will I be able to upgrade the firmware? The seagate sight says it
has "flashable" firmware.

I'm looking for any recordings from the current Dio tour (with Deep Purple
and Scorpions, but mostly looking for the Dio sets) and also the current
Eagles tour. Neither of these tours are coming to a venue near me (not even
in the state) so far, so I won't be going to see them or taping them
unfortunately.
Also looking for any rock/classic rock tapers from all parts of the US,
Canada, and other countries who are interested in trading via DAT>cdr with
another taper.
Thanks,
Joe
