SSIA, but Dave Pirner has a solo cd coming out 7-30, and just announced a
tour to promote it. Well, the album/tour aren't exactly "solo", as he will
have a full band, which contain no one from his main band, Soul Asylum.
This is all new material written for a solo/side project, one can read up on

Tour dates are below, if anyone could possibly get out and tape any of
these, please get a hold of me off list, as it would not be a ''taper
friendly" event.

Hi All,
Greetings from Kenai River, Alaska... We all celebrated the equinox
last week and now our days are getting shorter by a few seconds a day. What
a bummer... Also, the river is closed to fishing do to the poor return of
the first run of king salmon. So, what's a poor Alaskan to do? I started
to get copies of recordings out for friends on Rust and the Lee-Shore when
my digital soundboard went tits-up... I have never heard of this happening
but it happened to me.
So, I decided to buy a new computer. It will delay my trades by
several weeks. Please understand as I want to make the best sounding cd's

this is what happened,
I had a Midiman Duo hooked up to my laptop via USB. It was recording at
24/48.
I had the Sony PCM-M1 hooked up to the SPDIFon the Duo. The laptop was
recording fine but the PCM-M1 was flashing copy prohibit but still giving me
a level. So I put A tascam DA-P1 infront to my deck (attached directly to
the Duo) It would not accept the signal at all as I recall.
Yes I'm sure it didn't say no input on the M1. It said copy prohibit!

The issue discussed about "copy prohibit" almost certainly has nothing
to do with sending a 24-bit signal. Oddly enough, I have never seen an
M-1 give this message. Are you sure it didn't say "no input"?

I ordered a GOTV ticket good for 7/04-7/07 for a friend (Phil Solomon)
who ended up with a free pass. He's already paid me the $$ for the ticket,
but asked me to try and get rid of it for him, since he's not online. I/we
paid
$142 (w/ charges) to Terrapin for the ticket. It's an official ticket
shipped to
me from Terrapin (the promoter).
Tix will not be available at the gate, and Terrapin is claiming nobody will
be
allowed within 1 mile of the venue w/o a ticket, or you will be turned
around
by the State Police.
If interested (or know anybody that is) and want a cheap ticket, make an
offer ASAP. OK?
WOB: Dickey Bett's set from last year's GOTV....1 CD sbd for B+P to the
1st 5 who ask.

unit. The Denecke AD-20 Lists New depending where you look for $300-$325
Unit works perfectly and has only a few minor surface scratches. You can

hi all,
on the latest few recordings i made with my okmii rock studio mics i noticed
that the left mic is recording slightly lower than the right one. its
happening since the left mic broke apart (the platic that hold the mic
itself), but i though i fixed that with some tape.
at first i thought i might be becuase i did not use the a3 adapter, but even
with it it still slighly lower (only 2,5-3 db). it can easily fixed with a
pc-process but i wonder, did any of you guys have had any trouble with a mic
damage like this on the OKMs? (i was very carefull with them, really).

ps. can Soundman repair these tiny things for a reasonable price? (50-75
euro?)

hi,
after getting hardly any response on my first posting, i got a ton on
the second try. this goes to all who want the leon russell gig. i havent
made a list yet, and i want to be upfront about the tape before i finalize .
thing on the russell set, i think three of the songs, the start is
cut. its a long story. the show was billed as king norris opener, then
russell and winter. it was billed as winter and russell playing together. i
brought a one hr tape for the opener, and two hr for the main. the opener
was only 25 minutes. i started the 2 hr tape when russell came out( the
first song is cut cause they turned on the lights and boom , it started). in
the middle of the set, winter came out and joined leon on sax. then i
realized there was another drum kit, so i knew winter would come back with a
band. i switched tapes to the one with the opener, to get the rest of the
leon show on that tape. i taped the full winter set on the longer tape. you
can hardly tell with the russell set, he didnt say shit between songs
anyway( i wish he had, i'd have swapped tapes then). so , thats the story.
