The manual will be a copy of the original. The wired remote has never
been used and still has the Sony twist tie on the cord. Did try it and
it does work. I only have 1 remote but can make many copies of the
manual. The remote is 35.00 and the manual is 12 a piece. Mail me for
more info.

What EAC is for, why it was designed, and what it excels at, probably
beyond any other program is copying from a CD to a .wav file on your
hard drive, accurately. It has all kinds of abilities to run repeated
tests of the copying, a proces known as DAE, to make sure the copy on
the Hard Drive is identical to the CD, only in .wav format. It also
includes the capability of running a check-sum to make sure of it's
accuracy. If the program has a shortfall, it's the fact that it can't
tell if the CD-ROM you are using is accurate or not, so the results are
only as good as the hardware. In addition to the extra features, like
playing music, it can also burn CD's and a few other neat tricks. I
personally use it repeatedly, and have for several years.

completely bizarre ones, and I am dying to hear it. Have lots of RT
masters and lots of other stuff to trade.

Date: Tue, 16 Jul 2002 13:50:01 +0000
I've been using the HHB CDR800 for 5+ years and it's been great till now.
Lately, I've noticed a disc I burn in this unit will not play back in this
unit. It'll say it's a "new disc". Crazy thing is the disc will play in the
car or other players, and will burn in my duper....
Has anyone experienced this? I am wonderiing if a cleaning will take care
of it. It has never been cleaned or serviced in the 5+ years.

Like any mic, sure it will work, but to what degree? This is the wrong mic
for the job due to design, sensitivity, matching and proximity effect. But
in use, you will get a recording. Maybe not the best, but if you can only
pay "pawnshop" prices....
> Can I break the capsule compartment open make mods easily and use them with a

Not recommended. The capsules are shockmounted and you will destroy them if
you try to take the element out of the mount. You can unscrew the assembly
from the handle, but I have no idea why you would want to. It's too big for
"stealth". Especially in stereo.

>
No, they are microphones that terminate in an XLR, but the capsules are
soldered connections that go to the primary of an internal matching
transformer. The XLR connection reflects the secondary of the transformer.
And you do not need a resistor, you need an electrolytic or tantalum
capacitor that will block the DC bias from the MD deck yet is of a value
large enough not to affect low frequency rolloff or be shorted by a the DC
voltage. The cap must be installed properly to prevent the DC from reaching
the transformer or mic diaphragm. You would do better to save your bucks
and buy a set of mics designed for music recording. I have a small electret
stereo mic we sell imported from Germany designed for MD use that is only
US$99. Inquire.

The mic element design.

It is ideal for the intended microphone application.

It's only been a few days. Don't get all up tight so soon. But I know what
you're saying. I've had a few instances where you feel like someone is
teasing you. I used to get annoyed, play their "game" if you will, sometimes
putting up with it for months. But I have really hit the phase where I've
said fuck it it's not worth it.

this is the c-Media CM8738 chip (think that number is right). its on almost
all the mobos with digi out.
one of the best uses of a dig out on a computer is to run into an external
dac. The CM8738
does 16-bit well, but cant handle 24-bit, which may be a factor if you want
to playback the
24-bit stuff now coming into circulation. I really like the new ego-sys
(ESI) waveterminal 192L.
It's only $150 and has a 24/96 optical out. I beleive its the cheapest pci
cxard that uses the direct sound driver,
so it can handle 24-bit in winamp/soundforge/other non-asio apps.
cant vouch for its digital in, tho, as my card doesnt have that option (its
$50 extra, and I dont need it...

I could use some advice on recording in a situation where the crowd is
louder than the music in between songs and during highlights in the song.
How do you get a loud enough recording level without going over with the
crowd noise? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Well folks i went to do a dat > hd of frog brigade from bonnaroo and
apparently the tape had a crimp and it did something to the heads in the
deck...
when i stick a good tape in now it shows ABS counting but no sound (tascam
tech told me error rate is so high that the deck cuts off output) .. when i
jog fwd you hear the shit fly by plus you see the levels bounce.. he told
me the tape may have had junk on it that is in the head ,etc ,etc or just
plain damaged the head.. but he couldnt say for sure..
has anyone else had this sort of problem.. and also i need some suggestions
for where to send for repair besides to Tascam in Cali (they take too damn
long to do shit) ive heard ppl mention Pro Digital but know nothing about
them.. i contacted the Oades and am awaiting to hear from them since we are
both in GA .. and i planned on calling a place in atlanta to see if they
have a DAT tech in house (certified tascam place that the tascam dude gave me)

Hi all. This is mainly for those in the general St. Louis area. The Outfield will be playing the Jefferson County
fair this coming friday 7/19, 9:00pm main stage. I'd go and tape it myself, but i'll be on a Rush mini taping trip (please,
no Rush requests just yet.) If someone happens to be going anyway, all the better, but if you need encouragement, i'll
spring for admission if there is any into the show.
You can let me know either before or after the show that you have it.
