Lately, all the discs he burns are ok except when you get to the end of the disc, when the last short bit of the CD repeats itself almost like a record skipping. If you have several discs in a changer (I don't) this would prevent it from switching to the next disc. He says he has tried different burning software without any success. Any ideas? First there was a delay of a week because the consumer repair department didn't recognise the deck as a pro unit (causing a 'your deck has been repaired' message to be sent out :-/); then the unit was entered in the pro repair departments computer. After a week at the pro department I got to hear they didn't have the m1 service manuals. After the second week they were waiting to receive the manuals and I had to tell them again that the m1 is mechanically identical to the d100. Now, after the third week (4 weeks in total!) they are offering to repair the deck for the whopping sum of 316 to 351 euros excluding taxes. They have about 160 euros in parts: 1 ZX33737421 limitter (mg) assy 1 ZX33737411 limitter (f reel) assy 1 ZX33737431 limitter (mg reel) assy 1 ZX33737401 limitter (f) assy 6 Z332139301 washer......... 1 small parts So I have some questions: What is it they are replacing? Do the parts really have to do with the problem I reported? Would replacing these parts help? Is it normal that the deck needs these repairs this fast? (only a few years old, not too much usage) Is it wise to let the repairs be done? (It's halfway a new M1?) Are the prices 'normal'? If so (or not): what can I do about them? Please let me know. TriChromes played about 66 minutes and Ratdog played about 90 min. Both sets are on the one DAT. It was recorded FOB with B&K's and does have a few gusts of wind noise on it (more evident during the TriChromes set). It's on one SONY 90m DAT. In return, I'd like one sealed Sony or Maxell 90m DAT plus postage. First to respond after the Digest hits my mailbox gets it...unless you're willing to do B+P's for others, which I would give preference to (and then you wouldn't have to be 'first'), in which case please tell me how many B+P's for others you're willing to make...the highest # of B+P's offered will then get it. 'The contest' ends 48 hours after I get the Digest, and I will email back all who respond. Date: Fri, 26 Jul 2002 11:39:49 -0700 Anyone here running a P1 and Lunatec V2 simultaneously off the same 6V SLA (Eco-Charge type)? Years ago I remember hearing that you'd pick up a whine or buzz by doing so. Assuming it works, what sort of battery life do you get? I'm looking to reduce my travel weight for some short-hop gigs. On a related note, are people getting SLAs on planes in carry-ons? I've been putting mine in my checked baggage so far (with a copy of the regs saying that's okay), but have some stuff coming up where I'd like to skip the checked baggage routine. Thanks. When I first installed the card into my XP system i was getting tons of clicking in the speakers...After trying newer drivers, and all the suggestions on the website (like lowering video acceleration to prevent latency issues) but never got it working. For kicks i tried a different XP box, with similar results (though less clicking, possibly due to the second PC not having a Promise card-Still was getting 10 clicks/pops per 2 hour dat that were not on the original). I then tried a Win2k server, and never could get the card to work at all, then tried a WinNT4 Workstation, again having troubles...Finally I built out a new machine as Win 98 (only) with all drivers installed and Sound forge as my recording software, and I finally had no clicks in the speakers, and I dont think any are on the recording. My question is does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of the clicking problem in XP...which I would rather use. THe card supports XP, but I am having issues. I am using an Optical cable to my speaker, could that be causing problms somehow? I am going to try the analog out for my speakers to see if that is better. Finally when I got the clicking resolved in the speakers, occasionally there would be noise that came through that was not on the tape...what is causing this..the card? The 7pin Core sound cable? SOme other setting I havnt tried. Thanks in advance for any help!! (by the way I am an MCSE with 6 years experience, and I still coudnt get this going, and M-audiohas been anything but helpful..) My first visit was this past Tuesday for Bruce Hornsby. They allowed me to take my equipment in but I couldn't set up my rig. Instead, they had their own mics set up and everyone patches out of these. The thing we patched out of was a US Audio Whirlwind that had XLR outs. I didn't have the right cables, so I patched out of someone else. My question is, how would I write the source info for my text file. I'm not exactly sure what this piece of equipment was or does. The mics were AKG391's about 30 feet each from DFC in both directions. As far as I could tell, they were just running to this box that was a preamp/converter combo. Any insight would be helpful, I should have asked more questions, but they were shooing us out rather quickly, probably to spend more money on the casino floor.
