[unimportant bits removed, as I received no response to the original post.
Possibly due to burying my questions too deeply? If I get no response this
time, I won't repost again, I promise.]
I'm looking for some general advice on how to clean up live DAT recordings
using Cool Edit Pro.
I forsee performing the following tasks:
o EQ (primarily large amounts of bass roll-off)
o Normalization
o Compression (for situations where an attenuator cable was required or
and/or the pre-EQ bass was extremely heavy and normalization doesn't
completely fix the problem)
o A few pop reductions (a case of a bad mic cable, primarily between
songs when moving the unit to read the display)
The last two are primarily to be "nice" to people's stereo equipment.
My questions are specifically:
1. What would the recommended order of steps be? Where best is defined as
"best output" based on both the reducing the effects of resampling errors
as well as allowing my ears to make the best decisions along the way.
2. Would it behoove me to work in the 32-bit domain if performing multiple
transformations or is 16-bit good enough?
3. Is there a guide out there on the web that discusses typical approaches
for the above tasks and questions? If so, that's all I need, just point
me to it!
Thanks again,
-brendan

Hello Heads,
What a great night! I just saw the best YES concert I have ever seen and the best concert of 2002 so far in my opinion. Don't miss this tour! On top of that, I recorded the best stealth recording I have ever made. I am proud of it but most of the credit goes to the seat location. I was about 15 rows back on the left in front of the stack. There is crowd noise and of course Chris Squire is very out front but in my opinion this is an excellant recording. I want current Yes, any Yes, or just send your lists for trades. Send to jagabrieljr@aol.com. Here is the info:

Hello. I am in search of the Philly and/or New York 2002 shows of
Steve Hackett. I do not have a burner at this time, so would like to
arrange for a CD B&P if possible.
Thanks!

short and to the point:
went and saw Beck's show in Seattle last night.
bad batteries prevented me from taping.
I would love a copy of this show. I don't have any Beck to trade but we
can work something out. I tape here pretty frequently. Help me out if you
can. Thanks.
