For the freebie info, skip to the 2nd paragraph.
First, if you are into Flaming Lips, The Beatles, Mercury Rev, ELO, Guided By Voices or just love wild, exciting shows; by all means, do not miss the Polyphonic Spree if they play in your town. They are from Dallas, Texas. I saw them last night and it was one of the most exciting shows I have ever seen. 23 people on stage playing everything from a Theremin to a French Horn to piccolo and flute to you name it. Plus there were like 7 or 8 people just singing harmonies. Goregous instrumentation and lots of energy from the lead singer, who, get this, was the lead singer of Tripping Daisy (remember that song "I got a girl, who lives with me" from like 1995?). Well, let's just say he's matured. Don't miss this if you have the chance. I bought the record because I can only imagine what they can do with this in the studio.
Now, if you want the Belle and Sebastian freebies, which I have several copies of each night of the Wiltern Theater run in L.A. from 9/01, just send me an e-mail with your name, address and whether you want 9/5, 9/6 or both. It's fine if you want both (especially if you were at both), or if you only want one, just write either 9/5 or 9/6 next to your name. I don't have the exact source info, but they are both FOB Schoeps I believe and sound great. By the way, a thank you goes a long way.
Hope everyone is well,
Wes

Hey all -
I've decided I'd like to get some stealth mics. If you have some for sale,
please drop me a line and let me know what you've got. Not looking to spend
all that much, but would like something to tape with around Atlanta. Have
experience with CoreSound Cardioids, would like something comparable.
Thanks.

hi,
first, the way off topic question. anyone have an experience with a
radio shack lab-1600 linear turntable ? i want to do some vinyl transfers
and picked up the unit at a yard sale. seems to play well, and i like that
its a linear tonearm. i'm not familiar at all with having no tonearm
balance adjustment, or anti skate adjusment . also, it has an audio technica
cartridge, p mount. i'd love a owner or service manual for it, or any
personal experiences.
now on to more on topic stuff. i taped robert randolph and the family
band in huntington NY thursday nite, if anyone is interested.
finally, i bought the MAHA 1600 mh batteries and charger from thompson ,
if i remember right. i wasnt super happy about the battery life, but dealt
with it. i hade to charge the batteries, and didnt have the maha charger
handy, so i susd the charger that came with my sony pcm-m1 . well, those
batteries lasted a lot longer charged on the sony unit. i'm going to use it
again . just wanted to pass that on.
please see my music trading page: New URL

being its AOL, its not always up. try it a few times, or ask me for a
text list. thanks
have fun,

Still have some left...
SEAGATE/CONNER DAT TAPE DRIVE WITH AUDIO SUPPORT: $75
CTD8000H-S/CTD8000R-S
This Peregrine series DAT drive has 4GB native
capacity with 120m tapes and 8GB hardware compressed
capacity. SCSI interface. This drive supports both
data and DAT audio and can read/write audio at 2.2x
with special software for the PC, e.g. vdat or
dat2wav. SCSI inquiry string reports "ARCHIVE Python
01931-XXX 5AC". The drive is used, but has been
tested: works fine! No rails, just drive and 5.25"
faceplate. I take PAYPAL, MO, or check. Insurance is
optional at $2.00.
email shmurg@yahoo.com with any questions...

Hi all,
just grabbed his new album yesterday and haven't stopped listening to it
ever since..
Anyone that recently taped Jerry on his support dates for
NickelbacK,Creed,on one of his in-store appearances latelyor (even better!) is thinking about
taping him on his upcoming headling shows (for example tomorrow at Lupos
Heartbreak Hotel?).
Would love to hear from you...have lots and lots to trade.

Recently uncovered a short filler segment from Plastic People
and decided I need much more. Also would like material from
their alter-ego band Pulnoc.
These bands are highly significant both for their music and
for their contribution to communist-era Czeck politics.
For more info see http://www.furious.com/perfect/pulnoc.html
thanks

I set my deck to play back a tape to my digi card before I left my house the
others day. It was a 3 hr Sony dat. Anyways I was gone for about 24 hrs,
with the tape sitting in the deck the whole time (probably not the smartest
idea). I got back home this morn. only to find a message reading "caution"
on the deck. I now can't get the tape out of the deck; the door won't open.
I tried powering the deck on and off with no luck. I can't rewind or play
the tape back either, I just get the "caution" error. I want the tape out of
the deck, and if possible I'd like to save the tape. I figured I'd post here
before I hacked the machine with a pair of plyers.
I bought the deck used with no manual. I have no idea what this "caution"
sign signifies. Any help is very much appreciated. Again the deck is the
Sony PCM-300, thanks.
