We stock most of both cables and we make custom cables as well. For this
application, we have Sony gold OFC pre-mades as well.

Bonnie vs Jorma....
I was only comparing the two as far as not allowing taping but not really
caring about it. A lot of acts (big and small) feel this way but b/c of
there contracts they can not allow taping. I do not think Jorma gives two
shits about people taping his music, as many on this list have said.

Hey Now ALL!
This was bounced but if I get it right this time you
might understand the link to the Picture I sent
entitled Fire!
Sorry for the B/W and will make all right when we are
cleared to unpack....
Peace, Michael
Hey Now All!
It is hard to believe that it has been seven years
now that we have lost our beloved friend and guitarist
Senor Garcia. I have been sitting here at the fire
crew camp shaking hands with firefighters and trying
to express my thanks for all of their hard work even
as it still continues. Losing friends and loved ones
is very hard and these people lost Three of their
co-workers a little over a week ago protecting our
beloved forests here in the Northwest corner of CA and
the Southwest corner of Oregon.
Mom and I have been packed for two weeks now waiting
for the evacuation order. I thought for sure that last
night was the night as the winds picked up to 25+ MPH.
It is now over 100 degrees here and these ladies and
gents still are putting life and limb out in harms way
for us. And almost every one that I have talked with
today has complimented me on my fine garcia tye-dye
and the fact that many of them feel the loss also.
Amazing! They are facing death and remember only ones
gone by.
Anyway, As soon as I can I will open up my
collection and be sending discs out of some of my
favorite shows of Jerry. But at this point I cannot
even reach any blanks to send out for B+Ps that have
been offered on the list. So I hope that some of you
will not be bothered when I write and ask for some of
your offers you made lately when we can unpack....
Please hoist a Pint , pull a tube or just plain say
a prayer for Mr. Garcia and those we have lost and
those working so hard to not lose more of the true
treasures of this great land.....
Peace and let your Lovelight Shine,
Michael

Subject: How do I set Nero 5.5 to burn DAO
Date: Sat, 10 Aug 2002 07:03:43 -0600
Anyone out there using Nero 5.5.7.1
What am I doing wrong and ending up with TAO disks
Here is the setup process I go through
START > Programs > ahead Nero > Nero Burning Rom
The program displays with the New Compilation window.
I then choose the icon 'Audio-CD', with 4 tabs on the top
1. Info
2.Audio-CD
3.CDA Options
4.Burn This tab is set at the Write Method' of Disk At Once
I then choose the 'New' button on the left to click and drag the selected
tracks on my hard drive.
I then choose the icon to 'Write-CD'
The Write CD window has the same 4 tabs as the 'Audio-CD' with the Disk At
Once setting for the Burn tab.
I choose the Write button and the cd is burned.
But when the disk is finished it plays as a TAO Disk with 2 second breaks at
the track changes.
any assistance is appreciated.

Let's give this thread a rest, it's boring. People are
going to stealth if they want to no matter what
someone on the list who doesn't do it says. The
people objecting to stealthing in their posts seem to
be feeling some kind of power from it, seems weird to
me. A lot of artists don't care so lets not
stir this up and put a spotlight on it. Let freedom
ring!

Subject: Audio Capable DAT Drives - $80 shipped
Date: Sat, 10 Aug 2002 12:42:20 -0400
These DDS-2 tape drives can read and write audio DATs. They
have been sold as Archive/Conner/Seagate drives with the
model names of Python 4326/CTD8000/Peregrine. They come with
mounting rails and a faceplate that result in a 5 1/4 inch form
factor for mounting in a standard drive bay. They are SCSI
drives with the older 50-pin interface. These drives are used
but are in working condition.
They have the 01931-XXX 5AC firmware, which allows them to read
and write audio DATS at more than double speed using the dat2wav
or vdat packages. They are excellent for getting audio from a
DAT onto your hard drive, with .wav files broken up by start ID,
a perfect solution for converting to CD-R. Because they operate
at double speed, they are also excellent for cloning.
Price of $80 includes insured shipping in the continental U.S. by
UPS Ground or equivalent. If you are elsewhere or prefer another
mode of shipping, please inquire. Payment by PayPal, postal money
order or cashier's check. Email audiocapable@earthlink.net with
questions or orders.

Subject: Decks For Sale
Date: Sat, 10 Aug 2002 11:17:43 -0700
Hey folks,
I've got two home decks for sale. E-mail me privately if interested.
Deck 1:
Tascam DA-20. This deck is in great condition. I had new heads put in it
about 2-3 years ago and I've probably put only about 100 hours on those
heads in that time, so they are pretty much brand new still. Remote,
manual and original box are included. Buyer pays shipping. $425
Deck 2:
Tascam DA-20 MKII. This deck just got finished being serviced at
Pro-Digital, so it has a clean bill of health and is in perfect
condition with zero errors. Remote, manual and original box included.
Buyer pays shipping. $450
I am selling these because I don't have a need for 3 home decks anymore.
Thanks.

If Jorma is okay with people taping him, and he's aware of his record
contract terms and status but still says he's okay with people taping, than
what harm is being done? Jorma probably realizes he will not be a big
recording star again, nor will he likely sell out 15,000 seat venues on his
own. However, by having people tape him and spread his music around he
makes sure he can continue to earn a living doing what he likes to do,
which is play live. And his live performances will contribute to his album
sales. I saw him open for Phil Lesh twice this summer, and based on the
excellent material he played I've gone out and bought his latest album. I
also have tapes of the performances I saw (which, btw, were done with his
full permission as all the shows were open taping).
If a performer is okay with people taping, and in fact encourages it, who
are we to tell him people shouldn't tape him?
